This FM 2012 player profile of Mario Gotze shows how the wonderkid turns into a Messi like prodigy. Just check his profile from 2019. The resemblance to Messi is uncanny and bar a little less quality this kid is the nearest we’ll get to Messi on FM 2012. You have to spend in excess of £75 million for such talent, a ridiculous amount but if you;re City its worth the investment! The only short fall presents itself in the form of finishing, if Gotze had better finishing ability he’d be the complete player.

Best buy rating: 10/10

Opps, the 26 year olds screenshot is so incredible! How to sign him easier :))

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 9, 2011

I reckon he’ll be available for less after a few seasons but he’s certainly top quality.

  • comment avatar Tijmen Stronks November 17, 2011

Wow he’s great! Is he the best player in FM?
Oh and Darren, you’re writing great guides go on with this! I hope there will be guides about Ganso, Hazard, Neymar, Sandro, Jones and Wilshere!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 17, 2011

He is certainly one of the best in FM 2012 thats for sure. I’ll get onto the players mentioned eventually but want to increase my ‘cheap players’ list first.

  • comment avatar JP November 24, 2011

I´m playing with Tottenham and I sold Vaart, Defoe and Kranjcar to buy him. Inmense player.

  • comment avatar bud December 3, 2011

He is one of the players where “world class” appears in descripion on his information site if he develops well.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 8, 2011

Lucas Moura and Mario Gotze, who is better?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

I think Gotze starts the game better but they end up been very, very similar….Moura is more rounded whereas Gotze is incredibly skilful.

  • comment avatar TimidMonkey December 8, 2011

Sensational guides Darren, really enjoying the read!

Had a quick reccomendation question playing with Arsenal, Eden Hazard or Gotze to play in a three pronged attacking midfielder role alongside Willian(immense player!) and Douglas Costa with Van Persie up front?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

Thanks mate, glad you like them. You seem to have an abundance of attacking talent there but I honestly couldn’t pick between Gotze and Hazard, I just think Gotze starts better but they level out to a similar standard.

      • comment avatar TimidMonkey December 8, 2011

        Thanks for quick response!

I’m looking into buying a left back, and was wondering if you had any good suggestions? Preferably a young star that can grow into the team. I was considering Jack Robinson, good bet or are there better youngsters out there?

        Cheers!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

NO problem. They don’t come much better than Robinson so I’d go with him.

  • comment avatar Jeff December 12, 2011

Hey Darren. I’ve got a question. I’m using Tottenham with a 4-5-1 formation. I have Gotze & about to buy Hazard. Because I don’t use AMC’s, do u think it would be effective if I move Gotze to AMR & use Hazard as an AML IF?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 12, 2011

I have heard rumours about Gotze not been as good from the right wing but believe that is your best option. Hazard from the left and Gotze from the right…also both as inside forwards is the way I’d go.

      • comment avatar Jeff December 12, 2011

Thaks 4 man. Yeah, I also figured that was the best & probably my only option. I can’t play Hazard as a CM cause I’ve already got Ganso & Modric there :D

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 12, 2011

To be honest I see Hazard as wasted from CM so probably best you’re left without an option.

  • comment avatar sachithyoda December 25, 2011

bought him in malaga for 23.5 mil, he said he wanted a challenge.
i could have got him cheaper but i was desperate

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 25, 2011

That price seems near impossible compared to my save. I have bid for him every season and never got close to £55 million let alone £23.5 mill, that is a bargain.

      • comment avatar sachithyoda December 25, 2011

santos has been relegated in my save, so im also thinking of buying neymar.
how do you think if it will be if i have gotze in left wing and neymar in right wing as inside forward?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 25, 2011

I would actually recommend switching them two around from the positions you mentioned.

          • comment avatar sachithyoda December 30, 2011

what position should i play him? he is really under performing
the reason that i got him for 23m was because Dortmund were relegated and now Mats Hummels is begging me to buy, should i buy him? he will probably cost me ~20 mil

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 30, 2011

You should play him in whatever position it says he is natural in and the coaches report will say what role too. As for Hummels I’d say he’s a great signing.

  • comment avatar Bernard December 26, 2011

I couldn’t seem to get good, consistent performances from him until the 2014/15 season. Now that’s when he burst on the scene. 11 goals and 27 assist in all competitions and the season is not even over, bloody hell.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 26, 2011

I found with quite a few players that I didn’t see their full form for a few seasons until the team had fully gelled…seems like a general thing to be honest.

  • comment avatar Bernard December 31, 2011

any tips on developing the guy. He’s still 23 in my save but hasn’t progressed much.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 31, 2011

The same way I’d raise any player, make sure you have top coaches training their best category, make sure you have great training schedules and each player is assigned to the correct one then train each player individually on their weakness’ (that would be Gotze’s finishing.) Also go into each individual player training and up their ‘individual training intensity’ to high.

  • comment avatar Ckelly January 1, 2012

I remember in fm11 Dortmund got relegated and I bought this guy and kagwaya for about 5 mill each for Celtic. Best team I ever had with them In the team. Champions league finals etc. To much for me now lol. Was unreal for me though like 20 something assists and like 10 goals a season lol

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 1, 2012

That sounds like an epic game and sums up why I love FM. Every game is different and a small disaster for Dortmund can make your team amazing :)

  • comment avatar David Binge January 6, 2012

Have signed Gotze for my Chelsea save. I’m playing him down left hand side as a winger. Also in the centre alongside Hamsick both playing really well.
One player I would love too see featured is Jack Rodwell.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 6, 2012

He will get a profile eventually, I just have a huge list to get through :)

  • comment avatar terrorkai January 7, 2012

if i wanted to play gotze at amr, wat shuld he plae? inside foward support? adv playmaker support? or winger support??

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 7, 2012

Just check his coach report for what the coach recommends, it actually depends on your tactic really.

  • comment avatar terrorkai January 7, 2012

i plae 4231, with hazard aml, willian/costa amc. gotze amr

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 7, 2012

Sorry I wasn’t clear with my first reply. When I say tactics I mean the combination of everything not just formation or who is playing where…basically I couldn’t tell you for sure what would work but using him as a playmaker or winger seems most logical.

  • comment avatar Super Danny Welbeck January 11, 2012

Firstly, this site and your player profiles have helped me no end, Darren. FM12 is the first I’ve bought of this franchise and before even buying the game I felt like an expert because of this website. Keep up the good work.

On Mario Götze, his stats to start of with are incredible and this profile shows he goes on to be (probably) the best in the world. I’ve started a save with Manchester United and edited my budget so I’ve got £33 million and £180k wage budget remaining. After I’ve sold some of the deadwood I’ll have at least £50 million. Just wondering if Götze can be trained and developed into a world class CAM. I believe when I’ve got the full £50 million to spend I’ll be able to afford and attract Götze or Modric. Modric is approaching his peak and as it stands is much better suited to United. Götze though will go on to be better and if he is able to become a CAM would be a much better signing.

Just wanted your opinion on whether Götze can go on to play through the middle rather than out wide.

  • comment avatar Super Danny Welbeck January 11, 2012

    Apologies for the double post.

If you get a chance could you make a player profile for United youngster Ravel Morrison? In real life he’s widely regarded as the best talent of his generation but off field issues could prevent him from making it in the first team. On FM12 it says ‘has the potential to be a quality player, 3.5 stars’ which is very promising, but if you could post a screenshot showing him at his peak that would be great so I could see how far he can go.

No worries if you don’t though. Cheers.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 11, 2012

Well I don’t use an AMC so not sure how Gotze would play there bit looking at him he certainly should make a world class AMC for sure.

Unfortunately FM doesn’t seem to have Ravel develop as well as people claim he should in RL. I checked a few future saves and his profile in them isn’t good enough unfortunately…I just don’t know if that is the CPU’s bad management or his actual development.

  • comment avatar Thierry Reis January 15, 2012

    Hello Darren,
I’m new to the FM genre and I’ve been particularly amazed at your disposition to help fellow players.
Compliments aside, my team is the M.Utd. and I went well on the preliminary games, defeated Madrid 0-3 on Santiago Bernabeu. Recently I rejected an offer of R$65million for Ganso from Santos (about £25million I think). On that moment all my savings were not enough to pay his price, do you think I was dumb not to have asked the directory for more? Or at least, will he be available in the future?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 16, 2012

Personally I think Ganso is a rip off…you would be best looking elsewhere like Hamsik for instance as he’ll never be available for less unless he falls in ability in which case you wouldn’t want him anyway.

  • comment avatar Peter January 20, 2012

I’ve signed Niang, Fierro and Erik Torres so play 4:3:3 with bressan, yterd Jensen and cristieg in mid. Works well I’m WBA and beat Chelsea 9-2 away and Niang got 5! However still only finished 5th as strikers inconsistent. Any thoughts? Should I play 442 instead and use on as a super sub?
    Loving all the work mate!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 20, 2012

I would suggest that it is the tactic and maybe switch to a 4-4-2, however you must remember their age, they will not perform consistently together for anotehr few seasons I’d say.

  • comment avatar Peter January 20, 2012

Ps gotze looks immense! Never gonna get him at west brom!

  • comment avatar Chonger January 26, 2012

Hey dude! I wrote on ur douglas costa post about him in my utd save…took a break and now im back, second season…all main wingers + strikers have 10 goals each…I spent 12 mil on eriksen who is IMMENSE(better than hamsik as a playmaker, gave 30 fr hamsik…im an idiot) and now its January and Shitty got Hazzard, Chelsea got Neymar and im 3 points ahead…so I am either getting kagawa for free or spending money on gotze( gt 60 mil)…suggestions?

Plus, Gotze’s best position is? Idealy it’d be winger cause I already got 2 great playmakers. (last thing before I leave, and ive been meaning to tell you…Do a post on Danny Welbeck…His literally my black michael owen…I put him on 70th min and he always has a goal…20 last season and 8 in 9 (6 as sub)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 26, 2012

I bought Kagawa for my Malaga side and he was immense cutting inside from the left wing which is where I believe Gotze plays the best. Its all down to you but I love saving money so would go for Kagawa. I can’t do a profile on Welbeck until someone has managed him and provides me with a future profile as he doesn’t develop under the CPU’s supervision.

      • comment avatar prempz February 10, 2012

Darren Smith and all of you guys how the hell did you manage to get gotze in your team ??? i even started a new save just to see how much i can get him alone ….figures of around 91m to 100m in the first season and now im in the second season now nearly impossible to even boy saying he has no intention of leaving etc so how are you getting him??? what year or how much did you pay to get him and also what do you play him as on the left wing ??? inside forwad ??? attack playmaker ????

        • comment avatar Darren Smith February 10, 2012

I have not signed him and never said I had…I offer advice because it is obvious to me how he should be used and the asking price shown is when starting a new save in patch 12.0.2 so should be the same. Guess it depends on who you’re managing too though.

          • comment avatar prempz February 11, 2012

im managing liverpool ive scouted him and it said he was intrested in a move but then it ended up him being around 58m and having to pay 58 monthly installments with 33m internatonal app of at least 1 since the game dont have a real german national team and its fake and wont let me buy him for a realistic price so really i ended up paying 58m which is a bump because liverpool need alot of players replaced and only can sell a few players due to the crap new comers like charlie adam etc so im stuck with selling agger , maxi , skirtel , kuyt , fabio a ,to make up the funds to buy him ….sorry for the long paragraph lol

          • comment avatar Darren Smith February 11, 2012

I think you need to negotiate with the club…that is the only way to get any of the players we’ve profiled at the asking price reported. If you don’t negotiate the price you’ll be paying anything from 10-100% more than you need to.

  • comment avatar Juswin March 12, 2012

Mario Gotze in my save, is a beast. I have trained him in finishing with the individual training and managed to raise his finishing to 14 and he is still 22 yrs old. Scored hat trick

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 12, 2012

Yeah the future profile shown is with CPU management so a real life manager should be able to develop the finishing attribute, I just didn’t know how well so heres the answer. :)

  • comment avatar Harry Ross March 14, 2012

thanks a lot mate for this site, its great and its influenced a lot of my signings, im with psg in the second season and i’ve been given enough money to bring some world class players in, i have pastore, but do you think its worth getting gotze? thanks a lot

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 14, 2012

No problem Harry, as for Gotze, I’d say only sign him if he’s truly interested in joining or you’ll be held to ransom on wages. But if the wages aren’t ludicrous then he’s worth signing.

      • comment avatar Harry Ross March 14, 2012

yeah there’s probably not much point, my team right now is sirigu-vrsalijko-alex-sakho-alex sandro-kara-hamsik-hazard-pastore-willian-cavani, can you suggest improvements? i’ve got a 25 mil transfer budget but i can sign players on monthly installments due to the chairman constantly investing, also have back up such as badelj, fierro, niang, rakitskiyi, menez, kovacic, joel valencia, prestia, sorry for the questions mate

        • comment avatar Darren Smith March 14, 2012

To be honest if you added anymore to that team then you’ll risk not developing the great backup players that are of a young age so I’d stick with it.

          • comment avatar Harry Ross March 14, 2012

cool thanks a lot, got an average brazilian team as a feeder club so I’ll offload some youth there

  • comment avatar Josh March 25, 2012

Hey Darren! Thank you a lot for your information of Wonderkids from your website. I found a bit Wonderkids that maybe worth. Could you check Zakaria Labyad, Pablo Sarabia, Kenneth Zohore (Must add Danish league), Acquah from Palermo, Diego Rubio, Jose Campana, Jordi Amat and Fabricio from Paranaense?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 25, 2012

thanks I’m glad the site has helped. We are currently not looking at new players as the site is been updated…but once that is complete we will commence searching and some of those players are already on the list. Cheers.

  • comment avatar darsnider March 28, 2012

ifootball manger 10 or 11 when i first got gotze when his stats wasnt that great and my brother and friend laughed at me and i made him a monster i was like WTF why don’t i hear about this guy( didn’t get the German league) he was a starter on my team and i loved him i was so proud when i saw him on goal.com and saw he was living up to his potential now i cant get him for my juventus side, i cry every time i play, 3 seasons in and a bid of 88 mill upfront wont get him he is worth 49.5 mill in my save thats how good he is i got hazard for half that price and he is stellar i want to have him on the right hazard on the left and sonago/feiro upfront i can see the 6+ to 0 score sheets already

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 28, 2012

That certainly sounds like a deadly front line.

  • comment avatar Adjay Mistry April 15, 2012

I signed Gotze in my first season for Man Utd for £46mil and he is incredible I trained him in finishing so it is now 15, last season he got 33 assists in 45 games. Get him he is amazing

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 15, 2012

Wow, if his other attributes are similar to the ones above and finishing is still so high he’d be coming close to Messi’s level…scary.

  • comment avatar darsnider May 1, 2012

ok no offence but stop spouting lies gotze is impossible to get no matter what the price if you spend less than 100 mill for gotze no matter how many seasons in your hacking or dortmud got relagated i cant get him for any less than 130+ mill and this is 5 seasons in that how dealdy this guys is

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 1, 2012

Not spouting lies, I have never had to offer more than the fee shown in this profile and that is based on the start of a new game in patch 12.2, if you don’t trust me then you are wasting your time reading these profiles as they could all be fake for all you know. You might want to revisit the way you bud for players, maybe try offering in £4 million increments starting at his value, that is how I found out his asking price shown in this profile.

      • comment avatar des May 17, 2012

I just got him in my man United save at the age of 22 for 49 mil + 5 mil with 15 league goals and 15% of future sale. And Dortmund were not relegated, I just kept negotiating. at first they wanted 80 mil. But the dortmund fans were very pissed and must have sent too many bad wishes his way because he’s out for two months in his second game only. My coaches he plays best in a winger role but I think that’s a waste so I am playing him in an advanced playmaker role. The beautiful thing about him is his versatility so I can keep swapping him with other players in a match, making him hard to mark.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith May 17, 2012

Yeah I have mentioned that the price can be that low, but you certainly need to negotiate and starting too high with your first bid can ruin the whole process.

          • comment avatar des May 19, 2012

yep, I started at 35m and took it from there.

  • comment avatar darsnider May 1, 2012

no what i mean is he is extremely hard to sign when some people scream they got him on a cheap its impressive i guess you have to be top flight to get him because even if you offer small intervals dortmund refuse to release him his worth just keeps going up and up its crazy maybe its becuase im using juventus but they dont budge one bit

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 1, 2012

Yeah it is tough to see him go for some of the amounts mentioned, but its best to offer benefit of the doubt as I don’t like it when people question my achievements in my stories on the main site…I see where you’re coming from as some of the figures mentioned are ludicrous but there’s no way of knowing for sure and without evidence you can’t accuse really.

  • comment avatar topkop13 June 26, 2012

Darren, first of all; you have no idea how much time I spend on your site – it is truly the holy book of fm 2012 for me (and I suspect for a tonne of others too), so a massive, massive thank you from south east asia (it can’t be said enough).

Quick ques; I have a 4-2-2-2 with an AML and AMR. I have both Gotze and Hazard. I’d like to play them as IFs with hazard on the left and gotze on the right as per the suggestions above. However, their reports say they are best as AP with attack duties. What are your thoughts on having two AP’s in those two positions? Does it generally work to have 2 AP’s in one line-up? I’d think having a designated playmaker is better but I’m not too sure. Keep in mind I already have a CM who (depending on the player) is either a DLP w/ support or an AP w/ attack. On top of that I have a TRQ in attack as well; so a plethora of potential playmakers – just not sure how to get the best out of them all>>

And one last ques: I currently have the TRQ as the playmaker and target-man on my team instructions; do I need to change the playmaker to either the AML/AMR or the DLP/AP in order to maximise their utility or keeping it with the TRQ would offer best results?

I understand a lot of this might be difficult to ascertain given everyones tactics are different but your advice to others seem brilliant so I’d be very grateful to your thoughts and advice. Cheers and beers mate.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 26, 2012

My advice is use them both as inside forwards, I never use the same roles as what the scouts recommend if it doesn’t suit my tactic…generally speaking having two IF as opposed to PM is far better. And if the roles aren’t right within a formation its irrelevant how well the individual can play in it. I’d also recommend changing your playmaker to the CM with advanced or deep lying playmaker role…its always better to have the man running the show in the center of midfield (in my opinion anyway.)

      • comment avatar topkop13 June 26, 2012

Thanks man – I figured that would be the best way to go too re. gotze and hazard. Will let you know how things work out, and am excited to see if having the pm in the middle of the park will lead to greater things; on paper, it seems it should but thats the beauty of the game right?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith June 26, 2012

Yeah, I often think that using an AMC would offer such creativity and yet every time we do the player under performs and we don’t reach our potential…so sometimes its about ignoring what makes logical sense even though it should work.

  • comment avatar Niclas July 17, 2012

Comparing Gøtze to Lucas Moura, which one of them would you advice me to use as CM and which one on RW?:) great job mate!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 17, 2012

I wouldn’t recommend using either in that position but out of the two Moura would be the most logical IMO.

  • comment avatar Niclas July 17, 2012

Could i use moura in front as treq instead? I will try to cooporate them into a barca look alike tactic. Then moura in messi’s role?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 17, 2012

I don’t know, I haven’t tried it…the best way to find out is to try, the game is very flexible so you need to have a go to know.

  • comment avatar Niclas July 18, 2012

Okay thanks for the answers. I know that you did not made the profile of him, but do you think that Xhaka could be considered one of the best midfielders in the game after a couple of seasons, IF he received the right training? I am asking because I consider buyibg him to my liverpool team.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 19, 2012

I don’t think so no, he is good but not that good.

  • comment avatar Imp July 27, 2012

why would you train him on fin when he is best advanced playmaker in game just retain him to mc position ..please check hes atributes as advanced playmaker atack no player have so high stats in that position and hes only 19 ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 27, 2012

Because his talent would be wasted in CM…that would leave 1-2 strikers and two wingers ahead of him, he is born to be in front of the goal and attacking that area. If you get his finishing up he can be like Messi, why wouldn’t you do that?

  • comment avatar Imp July 27, 2012

ok i am teling you that he is the best advanced playmaker in game here is a ss wiht important attributes highlithed
    http://postimage.org/image/c0in5cm2h/full/

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 27, 2012

I know that, but what I am saying is he can offer you so much more in a more attacking position when his finishing has increased…with higher finishing and positioned on the field in a free role where he can cause havoc he is Messiesque…you will never get that if you stick him in CM, sure he’ll get loads of assists and play very very well but he’ll have a bigger effect further up the field.

  • comment avatar Imp July 27, 2012

i am just trying to find best players in every position according to their attributes for that position.and for me the point of this game is to folow that rules i mean why would you spent 5 years to make him good finisher when he is allready +17 as advanced playmaker and i will probaly make that even higher wiht good training and there is no other player in this game that can do that even ganso and hamsik.i know how good he is as winger but i am trying to make him best playmaker ever.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 27, 2012

You said ‘why would you train him on fin when he is best advanced playmaker’…I gave you the answer, fact of the matter is he can do what no other player can in the most dangerous position on the pitch, just like Messi. He may be able to do better than anyone else in CM but that isn’t where you will get the most out of him as a player and that is why we suggest training him in finishing, to get the most of of this individual player, there’s your answer.

  • comment avatar Imp July 27, 2012

ok i know what are you saying and i know that some atributes are harded to train then others,so let this be a test than. i cant find anyone else tried this and if i manage to make hes +17 advanced playmaker atr to +19 not focusing on finishing then i will have next xavi in middlefield and you will have nice ss here :)

    Gotze or Hazard ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 5, 2012

Gotze seems like the more special player but I haven’t managed him so hazard if going from personal experience.

hi! first of all i want to congratulate you for the great job you’ve done here! keep up!

second of all, i really don’t know what to do. i’m on my first season in arsenal and i’ve signed so far jordi alba, mats hummels, marouanne fellaini, ganso and willian. i play on a 4-5-1 formation with szczezny, alba, vermaelen, hummels, sagna, fellaini, ganso, wilshere, willian, walcott and van persie. as you probabily know even though walcott is a terrific player, is technique is not the best. i think is a great player to enter in the middle of the second half when my opponent’s defense is getting tired. that’s why i really really want to sign gotze to play as an inside forward. i’m planning to make about 50 mil € with the deadwood and receive 60 more mil as a result of my budget, which will give me a total of 110 mil €.

what i want to ask is: can i buy gotze in the beggining of my 2nd season for no more than 80 mil €? and assuming i’ll make 50 mil untill the 1st of july, will the board give me 60 more mil or will they just give 10 mil so it equals 60?

i’d really love if you could help me here :)

I can’t answer that as every game is different…just try and find out.

I bought gotze at £50mil, £105k/wk for Newcastle when he’s 25. In return, he gave me a miserable 6.73 season rating. I’d played him in every attacking position possible, and I’m convinced he’s the epic flop. I collected the champions cup and domestic cups the season before, so I must be doing something right, until this guy showed up. I’ve no idea why this god of Dortmund plays like a goat for me.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 9, 2012

Not sure what the problem is, but certainly can’t be the player as almost all gamers will tell you how amazing he is. Maybe you didn’t offer him enough time to settle into one position.

  • comment avatar Imp August 9, 2012

ok listen you should play gotze as left inside forward and train finish and tackling ,he is best player on that position in game, and when i play against stronger teams 4-5-1 counter tactic he wins every single game alone———
also sory daren for me trying to play him on cm that was stupid, cm playmaker is much more then creat passing and other highlithed atributes i found out 1 more very important thing and thats diffrence betwen acomplished and natural position thats why ganso sucks on cm as advanced playmaker he never bosed midfle like ayew and martin{best playmaker in game}i read that if player is acomplished on some position he dont get all 100 % like when he is natural from hes atributes

Dortmund will let me have him for 120mil which is a bit rich for my taste…my 60 mil budget will not stretch to that. so i’m sticking with hazard on the left and developing sterling and joel valencia on the right,,,shame but unless the price drops significantly i wont be buying him.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 6, 2012

Yeah its very frustrating when a club demands such a ridiculous amount…especially when you know the player would go for at least half the price in real life.

what should i do? im playing dortmund on my 15/16 season, and i think i have wasted his talent :(. on my firt look at his skills i thought the best way to deal with his poor finish was to let it that way and center on his strenghts. i didnt realize i could have made him a messi like prodigy :(. now his fin and longshot are 7, but his pace 16 acc 19 agi19 bal 15 str 15 sta 16 cre 20, dec off pass tech dribb ftouch 19 ant 16. its nice but he keep wasting chances trying to finish instead of giving the last pass, even having the preffer pass than finish move and 15 teamwork, i play him as a left winger on 4231 formation. So my question is, at his age would be worth it to start trainig his finishing and long shot or should i leave it this way thanx :D

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 12, 2013

The obvious thing to do is just train him in finishing, but you could also try assigning him a different role like advanced playmaker.

  • comment avatar Chavello July 10, 2013

I have a 21 years Götze in my Dortmund team and is so much better than this one.
is probably the best FM player i ever seen.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 10, 2013

IF he’s so much better at just 21, I’d like to see the screenshot.

Iam sorry, i would be happy to do that but my computer was stolen, It could be hard to believe but i was so fanatized with this guy that i remember some of the stats:

        Cross 16
        Drib 19
        Fini 14
        FstT 18
        Lng Shots 13
        Pass 18
        Ctv 19
        Dec 20
        Flr 18
        Off 19

The rest the same. Fst touch 20 is very good anyway. But i focalized the ind training in Fin and Lng shots, and the regular training in tactics. and put Str and Aer to light, and he keept the phys stats.

sad that a cant proove it.
