Marek Hamsik’s career history until the year 2016

This FM 2012 player profile of Marek Hamsik shows one of the most consistent playmakers in FM 2012. He’s just too old to be classed as a wonderkid but has developed into a world class talent. In Hamsik you not only have a huge passing range that can lead to numerous assists, but you have a driving midfielder that can dribble and finish better than most strikers. At just £29 million Hamsik is a must buy and I say ‘just’ with regards to the price because he is worth every penny.

Best buy rating: 9.5/10

    Hey Darren, how are you?

What about Patricio Rodriguez, Thomas Muller, João Moutinho, Hulk, James Rodriguez, Dédé or Kevin Trapp. Will you post something on them or are they not good enough? Granted that some if most are not wonderkids in their own right but they seem top class both in-game and RL.

I’m great thanks mate, just finished work for X-Mas so can’t wait to get stuck into the site and some time off :)

I’ve taken a look at your recommendations, Patricio Rodriguez and Trapp I can’t find in future save, Muller is very talented but I don’t like the fact his technique is so short and think that means the asking price is too much. Having said that Hulk, Rodriguez and Moutinho are all worth a profile so I’ll do them as soon as I get a chance.

      • comment avatar Fábio Morgado December 17, 2011

Hulk is not a good player…he´s a monstruous goal scoring machine! I´ve bought him to my City save and he was te top scorer of the league. One of the best right wingers i have ever seen

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 17, 2011

He is definitely getting a profile mate, just hope my future screenshot does him justice.

  • comment avatar Wedny December 17, 2011

U shpuld do klaassen and kisia from Ajax. I have em in 2020 atm and they become really really really good.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 17, 2011

Sorry neither player is in any of my saves…granted I don’t have Holland loaded up so it would seem you need that country loaded to see them.

      • comment avatar N.Loureiro December 17, 2011

That would explain you not finding Patricio Rodriguez as he is Argentinian and Kevin Trapp as he is German. I suppose you don’t have the German and Argentine leagues as well.

That would explain. What about Vasco’s Dedé or Pablo Piatti, don’t they get any good?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 17, 2011

That is correct, I don’t have Argentina and Germany loaded so while most players are in there the younger less known players won’t be.

I don’t think either player develops into something special…Piatti could do well but not better than any of the other profiles tbh.

  • comment avatar Deepak December 18, 2011

hay bruh take a look at Steven jovetic, and kyriakos papadopoulos

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 18, 2011

I will do Jovetic when I find a future profile that does him justice and I’m already on with Papadopoulos.

  • comment avatar Martin K December 19, 2011

Hamsik is insane good, im having him and Ramsey ruling my Inter midfield.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 19, 2011

Definitely, he is the complete midfielder. Assured in the ball, picks pockets of space off the ball and could score like the best of strikers. What more could you ask for.

      • comment avatar N.Loureiro December 19, 2011

Hamsik is good, he reminds me of Lampard during the Mourinho Era at Chelsea but if you ask me…I prefer Bastian Schweinsteiger any day. Imagine Schweini in the Barça midfield….I had that in one of my saves in FM 2011

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 19, 2011

Definitely, he is very much like the Lampard of Mourinho’s Chelsea era. Any Chelsea managers out there might take a hint there. ;)

          • comment avatar N.Loureiro December 19, 2011

Nah…I’m portuguese and he vibe I’ve gotten from Villas Boas since he effectively started his career is that he wants to avoid any comparison with Mourinho whatsoever…and well I can’t blame him. Maybe he should try signing Kwadwo Asamoah – let’s face it, Essien is crooked and Ramires couldn’t pick a decent pass if he’s life depended on it, and I am a Benfica fan at that – and grant Oriol Romeu as much game time as he can. Speaking of which, how does Romeu develop in the game? Romeu, Meireles and Asamoah would give Chelsea a industrial midfield…strangely enough, one akin to Mourinho’s during his Chelsea days.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 19, 2011

Romeu hasn’t developed in my save but that’s because of a lack of first team football, he seems to have the talent.

  • comment avatar Howalt December 20, 2011

Try Lucas Andersen, Aab Denmark. It is possible to get him for 0.6 bio. £. He seems to develop nicely into the inside attacker.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 20, 2011

Sorry that player isn’t in my future saves.

      • comment avatar Howalt December 20, 2011

After buying him the first summer and playing with him for 3 years and 1/2 on holiday he looks like this. http://imgur.com/8s2iv

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 20, 2011

He does look good and a bargain for the price.

          • comment avatar Howalt December 20, 2011

Hi again, i just went on holiday for many years, until he turned 24. This is how he grows

It has to be said, that the training could have been better (still a noob :) ) and also the years of holiday didn’t do well for him.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 20, 2011

Yeah well he still gets good and certainly looks worth buying but I guess the only issue is he obviously needs a fair but of first team football to succeed and its just a matter of gamers been able to afford him that. Still looks good though.

  • comment avatar RedDevil December 20, 2011

Christian Eriksen doesn’t develop too well, does he? The way he’s playing now his PA should be a lot higher. Worth a buy anyway though?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 20, 2011

I think Eriksen is just one of those players that falls behind without the right training and first team football. In my game he didn’t improve until moving to Villarreal in 2015 where he’s on fire now. I personally think he’s worth buying but only if you’ll invest some time and first team football in him from the off.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 21, 2011

Hi Darren, sorry that a little bit out of topic. Is Modric better player than Hamsik? Will Modric join Chelsea?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 21, 2011

I have never played with Modric and Hamsik in FM12 so couldn’t say. I’d imagine them to be very different players so it depends on what your after. Modric is the sort to create a chance and that but of magic while Hamsik can create chances he’s more about finishing as opposed to making your team tick. Couldn’t say if Modric would join Chelsea but if he would it would be at a ridiculous price, why don’t you scout him and your assistant will tell you that.

      • comment avatar N.Loureiro December 21, 2011

One does not need Modric when Romeu is available. If it were me I’d go for Hamsik – he’s a younger version of Lampard – or try to have a go at both Eriksen and Kwadwo Asamoah. Why? In Eriksen and Romeu you’ll get a Xavi-Iniesta like parnership – though I pulled this with Adam Johnson and his dribbling ability by converting him into a Box-to-box midfielder – and you’ll have a Asamoah as a Ball Winning Midfielder or even as a Box-to-Box thus giving you a younger and more durable version of Essien.

Oh, and when I say Xavi-Iniesta I do so with full knowledge that neither Romeu nor Eriksen their ability at present but if played together for several years they could forge a brilliant understanding, even if they do not reach the spaniards’ levels. Then again, Football is a team game…so…go for it.

Also, Eriksen is than both and would allow you to get Asamoah

  • comment avatar jc December 22, 2011

played with napoli since ive bought the game. to say hasmik is the driving force of the team is an understatement. when they are down and out he manages to single handedly pull the team through, with either an amazing pass or bit of skill. best as a CM (advanced playmaker). him and Wijnaldum are lethal for me!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2011

Thanks for sharing that, he does look amazing and with attributes like that you can’t really go wrong :)

  • comment avatar John December 23, 2011

Christian Eriksen is real good and develop real quick. Bought him for my arsenal team, he scores must assist in hes second season and have taken whilseres place.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 23, 2011

That’s great to know mate, he looks very good on my game now but I still had question marks…could you please provide a screenshot of Eriksen in your game with his career history so I can make sure I’m using the best future profile available? Thanks.

  • comment avatar chris spaull January 8, 2012

Darren could u reccomend a striker for me whose quick and finds the net regulary don’t mind how much he is thanks and carry on the good work

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

      Cavani, Doumbia or Vagner Love.

      • comment avatar Chris Spaull January 8, 2012

Thanks Darren i was thinking about Cavani or Doumbia but im not sure who to go for

        • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

I think Cavani has more star quality.

          • comment avatar Chris Spaull January 8, 2012

okay thanks Darren and id like to say that Hamsik is the best CM ive had i always sign him in my saves and he always seems to do something magical at key moments of the match him and hazard are my 2 favourite players at the moment

          • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

Yeah I agree, both players can change a match.

  • comment avatar awi January 27, 2012

Darren can you recommend what role should I play for Hamsik? I use Napoli but Hamsik seem unspecial. His rating just 7.1 or something. I’ve used him for CM-attack, AM-attack, DLP-support. For once he’s good but not for other.

And could you recommend CM that as good as him?

    thanks anyway

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 27, 2012

I recommend playing him as advanced playmaker with attack duty…but it all comes down to the formation, other players and a whole bunch of other stuff. As for someone as good, I don’t think there is anyone that can finish like him and do everything else too. Maybe look through the ultimate list we have and go off the star ratings.

  • comment avatar Toby Moore February 22, 2012

Such a class player! I don’t usually go in for big, expensive transfers but this was worth it. Probably the best central midfielder on FM. Seriously considering getting the entire terrific trio! Can you do a profile on Cavani and Lavezzi at some point?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 22, 2012

Yeah he is a quality player and I really like Cavani too.

  • comment avatar get him if you got money June 21, 2012

I love hamsik he is really sik like his name.
if you can afford him, he’s a must buy amc.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 21, 2012

I agree, hes an excellent player.

  • comment avatar Cole August 4, 2012

what do you think about Nuri Sahin? i don’t see a profile on him.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 5, 2012

He is a very good player but due to been a very obvious option he hasn’t been profiled yet…we prefer to get through the players that people need to know about then go back to the obvious ones slowly.

  • comment avatar Greg A August 22, 2012

Hi darren, just wondering do you think hamsik would be a good partner for inler, herrera and de rossi ? I play de rossi as a BTB, inler as a BWM and herrera as a AP. I like the idea of hamsik being able to slide into all 3 roles and wondering if you have tried him like this ?

    • comment avatar Greg A August 22, 2012

      I play*

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

I have never tried that so can’t comment I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar Gavin September 1, 2012

he plays much better as AMC or even striker because of his finishing-composure-off the ball. Signed him 30m for Man Utd and he got 19 goals and 10 assists and 8 MoM in 31 game which is quite good I think!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith September 1, 2012

It depends on your tactic and what positions, roles you use…I couldn’t use him in those positions.
