Marco Verratti’s profile aged 22 in the year 2015

Marco Verratti’s career history until 2019

Verratti has been held in highest regard by SI for many years. However FM 2011 saw his ability drop a fair amount, but what has happened to the young Italian in FM 2012? While Varratti isn’t as good as in FM10 he is certainly better than in FM 2011. This time the 18 year old is best used as a deep lying playmaker and his technique underlines his overall ability. For £2.5 million this kid is a great signing and well worth an offer. Darsnider (one of our readers) offered the future screenshots above and you can see just how quickly the young playmaker develops…with some incredible assist records and fantastic overall attributes.

Best buy rating: 9.5/10

I have him in sunderland along side shakiri from basel. Two of my best signings

I must admit I am hearing a lot of great things about Verratti, might revisit this profile to offer a better conclusion.

Im in my second season of Pescara, and he develop rapidly. His better in passing and technique than in your future screenshot.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 28, 2011

I agree that the future profile is a little misleading, but at the time it was the best developed I could find him. Recently I have read stories where he does develop much better.

  • comment avatar Martin K December 28, 2011

what about Miquel Medina, he looks very promising. and Tibor Cica as well. are they worth to sign?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 28, 2011

I agree both look talented and should develop well but neither have progressed well in any of my saves. This could be down to a lack of first team football but I can’t say for sure. In all honesty I think there’s better options out there depending on who you’re managing.

In my game he really does turn into one of the worlds best, he has moved to Leverkusen and made them one of most feared teams in the world, captaining them and a key player for Italy. This is in 2017/18 by the way, been a key player since signing in 2013/14

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 29, 2011

I am hearing this increasingly and its a little frustrating that I can’t get the future profile to show it. If you find time I’d love to receive a screenshot of his profile and career history…that way I can show a much better profile here to advice the readers better. Thanks

i would like to send it, but im going away 3 weeks tomorrow, and im only 1 and ½ season in. but his really good.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 29, 2011

That’s OK, but I don’t see how he could have better attributes than the screenshot shown after 1.1/2 seasons.

this kid is awesome i signed him for newcastle and 2 and a bit seasons in he is a wonderkid after first becoming a flamboyant midfielder he’s currently 20 years old with better stats than above, passing and technique is currently 17 and dribbling 15 he is currently keeping cabaye out the side..sign him and enjoy his brilliance!!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 2, 2012

I have heard similar reports to be honest and he does seem to develop well when trained and played correctly.

  • comment avatar manos rizos January 12, 2012

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 23, 2012

Sure I can take a look. Just provide the players overview profile and then his career stats…please note I need the overview profile not the players overview attributes screen.

What are your thoughts on Clement Grenier? Would you recommend him over Verratti?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 15, 2012

He is good but not better than Verratti in my opinion.

  • comment avatar john June 21, 2012

    he’s an assist machine!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 21, 2012

While I personally haven’t had him long enough to witness that a few gamers have said the same, seems like a very good signing.

  • comment avatar Sai July 8, 2012

I believe this player deserves a much higher rating. I bought him in my first season for Man United , and here are some stats..

    http://i.imgur.com/yslaV.png – 13 apps – 11 assists

http://i.imgur.com/rUT3j.jpg – Look at his development , e.g 14 passing to 18. This is even better than his progress as a 22 year old in the picture above.

Great little midfielder , natural in cm , dm and as a cm.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 9, 2012

Yeah his rating was from before we got better screenshots so I have updated it now.

  • comment avatar Ollie July 31, 2012

Hi darren do you think this guy would work in your arsenal tactic as a cm support? i have jali and bressan playing with him for southampton. Just got him in the january transfer window

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 31, 2012

He could though might be more suited to Advanced playmaker.

      • comment avatar Ollie July 31, 2012

I thought that but bressan has been on fire and jali is always steady so im trying to adapt him to the role training him in marking. So far he has been in team of the week and performed well in the league cup final. great find!

  • comment avatar Bob Johnson August 24, 2012

Whos better as a backup verrati, crisetig, or emre can. position is deeplying playmaker in barcelona tactic. i got emre can for cheap and he has four star potential and is 17 aswell, plu he fits ny tactic but so does verrati.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 24, 2012

      I’d go for Verratti.

      • comment avatar Bob Johnson August 24, 2012

what about my starting deep lying playmaker ive got lucas leiva starting for my liverpool side, but i think ill need someone else because hes reached his potential, im planning on having a strikeforce with neymar suarez kadlec and midfielders with shelvey leiva and wilshere. my back four is solid, rovinson coates papadopoulus vrsaljko and goalkeeper is reina currently 4.5 star ability so hes too good to let go but ill probably buy ter stegen later

  • comment avatar Mike September 9, 2012

Where is best to play him? For Man City, I have him in DMC and MC, but some seem to be saying he’s an excellent AMC. I guess I should switch him from DM training to AM training because his stats are quite low in D.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith September 9, 2012

I’d use him CM as more of an advanced playmaker and train him on an AMC schedule…I have no doubt he isn’t a defensive a defensive minded player.

  • comment avatar tegar September 25, 2012

Damn, I can’t buy him in FM 2013…he’s definitely world class midfielder there, no doubt about it!
