Leandro Damiao’s career history until 2015

This FM 2012 player profile of Leandro Damiao shows a prolific goal scorer. Damiao is as good as any in the game when it comes to converting chances. The wonderkid starts with some great attributes but develops them to a level that makes the £57 million asking price seem not so bad (though the price is still far too high IMO.) Damiao’s overall game just compliments him in front of goal and this kid is a real handful, probably one of my favourite FM 2012 strikers…just wish I could afford him. :) The 8.5 rating would be a 9.5 if not for that asking price and is so high because this kid is lethal from the off.

Best buy rating: 8.5/10

In that screenshot he’s trained well, otherwise he’ll never be that good!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 7, 2011

Yeah but I’d expect every player to be trained well once you’ve signed them…thats why I always try and warn readers when a player hasn’t reached his full potential or has been trained badly by the CPU. This guy is top draw.

hey i got damiao on my first season with chelsea, and he is now in the year 2021 is chelsea’s highest ever league goalscorer and holds the record for most premier league goals in a season which is 42 and he’s chelsea record is 287 goals !!!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith October 9, 2012

He is capable of such records that’s for sure.

  • comment avatar Jimmy December 7, 2011

What role do you recommend playing him? Didnt really play well as a Targetman.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 7, 2011

I would recommend selecting either complete forward or poacher but it depends on your tactic really….I personally prefer poacher.

  • comment avatar Luke December 8, 2011

I signed this guy for my Liverpool save. I have Damiao and Paloschi up front with Suarez, Hazard, Willian and Weiss as my IFs.

Darren why did you sell Paloschi on your Malaga save? On mine he is developing very quickly and has scored 15 goals in 11 appearances, i have just started my second season.

if anyone is wondering how i afforded those players, i sold Skrtel to sign Willian, and signed Damiao on Hazard on monthly installments, i feel the merch sales and being back in Europe will easily cover the monthly fees.

Whoops , a bit off topic there!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

Great side you have there! As for Paloschi he missed at least four sitters every match for me which I couldn’t cope with. Whether its because he hates been the lone striker or couldn’t adapt to Spanish football but he just wasn’t scoring enough considering I have Niang and Fierro. He is still a great player though.

  • comment avatar Luke December 8, 2011

Back on topic, Damiao took a while to settle, and missed some sitters the first few months. Once he settles though, his instincts are second to none and his finishing deadly. He plays off the bench for me a lot and regularly bags goals within minutes of coming on. He hasnt really settles in a starting role as quickly as i would have hoped, even with Willian playing outside him.

BTW, Willian is probably my most recommended player for anyone for any team. At 8 million that is just a ridiculous price.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

Thanks for the info, Damiao is amazing but I can imagine him needing a little time to settle in such a league. Willian is certainly top class and a bargain at the asking price, I agree there.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 8, 2011

Thanks Luke. Which position is Willian playing at your save? I have the transfer budget on hand, either Douglas Costa or Willian. :)

  • comment avatar Chonger December 8, 2011

I just started a new save as man city to check out their budget and because i was very high i overwrote my arsenal save(DOMINATED first 2 years, Hulk had 59 in 56 as a lone striker) and I am looking for someone to partner with balotelli/dzeko…I have aguero/nasri behind them and silva spraying passes to everybody

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

Damiao could be that player :)

  • comment avatar Luke December 11, 2011

Sixteen, I play him as right side inside forward in a 4-3-3 style formation. I have a poacher with 2inside forwards, His best role is listed as central mid/ advanced playmaker but I find he performs much better as IF, same with Hazard.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 11, 2011

Anyone can recommend the best complete forward in FM2012?

And what is their best role? Im playing 4-5-1, with alone striker.

    Neymar
    Drogba
    Torres
    Cavani
    Lukaku
    Sanogo
    Fierro

    Thanks mate…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 11, 2011

It completely depends on what you’re looking for but I have a soft spot for Fierro who is best used as poacher. He needs a little time to grow but by far the most complete player I have.

  • comment avatar Luke December 13, 2011

I’m excited about Fierro. I have him on loan at Genk and he is improving and bagging goal after goal. Holy cow, Damiao, Paloschi, Nangis, Sanogo, Fierro, Bueno and a new English regen who is “best of his generation”. I honestly don’t know what to do with all these strikers! I only play a lone poacher, maybe time for a tactical tweak i think. I had a bid accepted for Niang because in my save he joins Kobenhavn for 3 million euros! I decided i just didnt have room for him.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 14, 2011

Wow that is one hell of a strikeforce….my recommendation is sell Niang unless he’s getting a lot of game time because he won’t progress fast without it.

  • comment avatar Bernard Abang December 17, 2011

Hey man, just signed Damiao to partner Hernandez up front but he only cramps my main man.Hernandez is my top 9 and i wont compromise him.with damiao alongside him he is stifled and damiao dont play well.alone as a target man and poacher, damiao is pathetic.Advice.Its 5 games into the season,am i expecting too much too soon? BTW Badelj is GREAT!!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 17, 2011

I think you need to give him more time before assessing him…it usually takes time for players to settle especially when they don’t know the language. Having said that it doesn’t matter how good a player is if your tactic and team doesn’t suit him…but you won’t know if that’s the case until he’s settled in.

  • comment avatar rui.p December 17, 2011

DAMIAO playes well by head do we put him as a target man or proacher ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 18, 2011

He could play either, depends on your tactic and if you’re not sure check his coach report.

  • comment avatar fotis December 20, 2011

which do u think is the best training for damiao?

  • comment avatar Tom Nash December 21, 2011

I brought Leandro 3 seasons ago (I lost adebyour, I know wrong spelling, due to loan finishing) , I play im as a lone striker, with two wingers(IF or AP’s) and he’s set as a poacher. He has scored 124 in 136 games for me and this season he has scored 39 in 41 (he got injured in preseason and missed the first 7 weeks of the season). Amazing striker and I managed to buy him for £19m bargain… when I start my new game I will buy him again… hits the ground running…

  • comment avatar Tom Nash December 21, 2011

Also on a side note, why are career history stats just for the league matches and goals. The stats should be for overall for that season, all games except friendlies and reserve games. When you then click on that year then you can see the break down… just an idea… for the next game or an update…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 21, 2011

That is one hell of a record, if his attributes have improved I’d love a screenshot as in all my games he has declined due to lack of first team football.

I agree with you on the career stats, that annoys me a lot as some of my profiles would look far better with all comps in the career history. :)

  • comment avatar Dan December 21, 2011

Darren, damiao looks quality, am just wondering does artojms rudnevs improve at all or is he worth signing.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 21, 2011

I’ve never even heard of that player. :) Needless to say he isn’t appearing in my searches on any of my saves I’m afraid.

      • comment avatar Dan December 22, 2011

fair enough, he plays for lech poznan, he scored something like 17 goals in 18 games last season in real life. Probably need a large database.

        • comment avatar Dan December 22, 2011

correction his first name is spelt artjoms probably still need a large database though.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2011

Yeah I should imagine the database needs to be large for him to show…thanks for the recommendation anywhere.

  • comment avatar sachithyoda December 21, 2011

would you prefer damio or guiseppe rossi up front?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 21, 2011

While Damiao is more my type of player I think Rossi would be a better target tbh.

  • comment avatar Bernard Abang December 21, 2011

Hate to be selfish but still not getting value for the 23 million I spent on this guy.His positioning is so bad, the team work a ball and he is all at sea. He gets a chance and shoots into the crowd. Am at my wits end. Tried him as a poacher, complete forward and target man and still no decent play.Any advice on how to get the lad up n firing.SOS.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 21, 2011

Without knowing the full ins and outs of your team and save I couldn’t really help as I’ve not signed him myself but know a lot of people have enjoyed his success. How long has he been at your club, because if he’s played less than 10 games you need to wait longer.

  • comment avatar DC December 22, 2011

Are Delatorre and Heber good players?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2011

While they both lacked first team football in my save I don’t really rate them to be honest.

      • comment avatar DC December 23, 2011

Their stats are pretty good at the start though. How about Grant Hanley and Saimon?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 23, 2011

Both not developed quite enough in my save I’m afraid…though as always if you managed them then they could turn out better.

  • comment avatar DC December 24, 2011

    Agreed. Thanks!

  • comment avatar Jay Chan December 24, 2011

This guy is friggin amazing. First season at Spurs. 47/35! He is a Monster! Awesome buy whatever the price. got him for 21 million pounds!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 24, 2011

Thanks for sharing Jay, he certainly looks impressive and that is one hell of a record.

  • comment avatar p December 25, 2011

how do you use damiao? i put him as a proacher but on the definitions where you choose the playemaker and the target man how do you put damiao ? because my coach said i have a nice speed but after signing he siad he was good in air. so if you can help me

  • comment avatar p December 25, 2011

    and nice christmas

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 25, 2011

I don’t have Damiao so not sure but reckon poacher would work best as poacher in terms of goals set as the teams target man with supply mixed. Merry Christmas. :)

  • comment avatar p December 25, 2011

    ty =)

  • comment avatar Luke S December 27, 2011

Hi Darren. January window of my second season with Newcastle playing 4-2-3-1. Really struggling to choose between signing Damiao and Doumbia to play as my lone striker. Who would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 27, 2011

If you really aren’t sure on one or the other then I’d go with Doumbia…he may not be everyone’s choice but I can see him banging them in for fun as poacher.

  • comment avatar fm noob January 8, 2012

i seems to cant get the best out of leandro in 4231 deep as my strikers always cant score in tis formation using as poacher, even for aguero

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

I would suggest the tactic is the issue here and probably change it.

  • comment avatar fm noob January 8, 2012

someone pls teach me how to get the best out of the striker for a 4231 formation!!!!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

I don’t use that formation because it has always been trouble and never really works for me. Besides, the results gained are far too inconsistent. I don’t think there is an easy answer to your question other than change formation for success, out of all the successful stories I have read none have featured that formation which says a lot in my opinion.

    • comment avatar one January 13, 2012

hi . i use that tatic and the best striker in my team is ayew , and i have damaio ( im trying him as target man and is type of as mix ) if you want to take the best of your man depends really what do you have in front and how you play. because certain players don´t fit in that . for example for me players like hazard griezmann and eaven ayew are palyars taht fit very well on that tatic, but lucas moura ( i dont rally now where im gonna pu as amr or aml) and eaven damiao is very difficul to say because of high and low performence. but in tearms of tatics a use atack , pression, criativati and some mobilaty and pression man to man and seems to work i am on the second season
the first i won everithing except the premier league and in this season i am ion third with less one game and in the semi finals of the champions league with arsenal.

  • comment avatar Hilman January 8, 2012

hey darren would you mind to see dominique malonga
he’s not very young, he’s 23 in first season, but he definitely one of my best purchase
i signed him just for 3,2m pounds and he quickly become a goal machine

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 8, 2012

I have taken a look and while he may do well for some the current and future profile isn’t really good enough to include I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar one January 12, 2012

my damiao is very difficult to say because he have i passed from proacher to target man and in my save damiao has 23 games on the premier league an as 15 goals but in general he has 41 and 24 goals. it seems good but he really misses much and that is a big problem.

and in comparacy to ayew as proacher the kid in the league as 16 games and 13 goals and in general as 31 games and 27 goals and the tearms are the same to both of them. what shoul i do to improve the performence of damiao ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 12, 2012

It’s very difficult to say how you can improve a player. You just need to experiment. I always suggest that if one gamer has Damiao scoring 30 plus goals a season and another gamer is struggling then its down to the tactic etc etc. But I don’t have him and haven’t tried him out to see what suits him best.

  • comment avatar one January 12, 2012

hmm ok . i just tried him as a target in one game i will see in the future but until now ayew seems to have it all as a striekr

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 12, 2012

I do agree with that, Ayew is quality and I tend to get a feeling about a player very rarely but Ayew is one of those players.

  • comment avatar one January 12, 2012

but i am a litlle bit dispointed on damiao but i will see how he develops as a target man and on the next season

  • comment avatar Johann Bonnici January 22, 2012

I am really surprised with the guy. When seeing his attributes looks awesome but when it comes to play he is disappointing me big time. What is dissappointing me are his finishing and positioning … particularly with his finishing especially when you see that his finishing is 18 (in my game). Darren, i am playing beside Giuseppe Rossi (witg Rossi on left side as a Trequartista and Damiao on th right as a poacher & Willian as an attacking midfielder after them). I don’t know if i am having high expectations but they are not scoring more than 2 goals per game with my Juventus. Any suggestions Darren? Cheers

  • comment avatar Johann Bonnici January 22, 2012

Just a small note: I am playing a 4-2-1-1-2 formation which in first 2 seasons gave me awese results. What i do think i need a hand on are team instructions and game shouts. I like the fast paced through pass sort of game where the striker mostly ends up with a setter (one-on-one with th keeper). As i said I am just encountering issue now (after 2 seasons). Darren, I woul appreciate a lot if you would help alot in the 2 (team instrucitions and game shouts). It would be grateful if you send me a screenshot of the team instructions especially. Cheers. Johann

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 22, 2012

Sorry mate I can’t help you with a formation that includes an AMC, in my opinion they don’t work very well…they never have done for me and I couldn’t find any consistency. Problem with using an AMC is that all the opposition have to do is take him out the game and you will struggle. I’d recommend changing your formation, remember Willian works just as well if not better from the left wing as inside forward.

  • comment avatar Johann Bonnici January 22, 2012

I will take your advice, What formations would you best suggest?

  • comment avatar Johann Bonnici January 22, 2012

Thanks Darren, keep up the good work ;)

  • comment avatar Liam Williamson January 24, 2012

i just signed damiao for my Tottenham team for £15.5 million and i play him as a target man and he looks amazing so far with 2 from 2 in the premiership, although both goals came in one game it was against my little bro and his chelsea. hehe 4-1 with 10 men and 1-0 down at half ime

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 24, 2012

He does look quality but I’ve heard some groans on consistency and chance conversion so not sure if that’s down to certain tactics or management approaches or a bad trait on the players behalf.

  • comment avatar Tom B January 25, 2012

Damiao is absolutely quality. Bought him for 15 million like two seasons in for my everton squad and now he is a seasoned premiership striker. Scored over 100 goals in the last four seasons with me. Amazing.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 25, 2012

Yeah I’m hearing a lot of this and a lot of people saying he misses chances, seems like you just need to use the right tactics and manage him correctly.

  • comment avatar Arief January 27, 2012

i think damiao is a monster. so far he already scored 212 goals on 223 appearance. eventhough he missed so many chances. he also managed to score 70 goals in a seasons. so i think he is valed for money and you all should buy him.

    • comment avatar Arief January 27, 2012

and also he did not dissapoint. he managed to scored atleast 50 goals for me every season so far and the best of all, he’s getting injured very rarely.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 27, 2012

Yeah he does seem like a great player. I think the comments being more negative are due to using him incorrectly or trying to use a style that doesn’t suit him, or maybe even poor team talks.

      • comment avatar Arief January 28, 2012

yeah… first i used him as a target man, but i change to poacher and since then he always deliver. and also maybe my team talks are good because he kept reacted well to my team talk and list me as his favoured personal….

  • comment avatar Jeremy Sitbon January 27, 2012

Mate, anyone who plays with Napoli, or can afford Cavani, should associate him to Damiao. Unbelievable duo. After 15 games together, Damiao scored 17 times, and Cavani 14 times. And this is in 2012

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 28, 2012

Sounds like a deadly combination for sure.

  • comment avatar Ewan Wood February 12, 2012

Darren I was looking for a creative striker for my Arsenal team as Chamakh (who is amazing for some reason) is getting quite old and I need a player who can support my other striker Muniain. I’m in 2015 and I have about 30 million to spend.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 12, 2012

Fierro or Erick Torres would be my choice, both very creative and can link up play as a well as score plenty.

  • comment avatar D. Jacobson February 20, 2012

This guy is absolutely ridiculous. He scored 16 in 15 first season, 56 in 47 second season, and 63 in 49 third season. I play him as a poacher paired with Rooney as Trequartista in a 4-2-4.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 20, 2012

Sounds like a beast in your save.

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 21, 2012

Darren im using the same 4-5-1 tactic u created with a few changes and i was wondering who do u think i should buy out of damiao cavani and doumbia as a poacher thanks

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 21, 2012

I personally think Cavani (though that may be RL preference talking.)

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 22, 2012

okay thanks darren also do you think wilshere and ramsey can work as B2B midfielders

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 22, 2012

I reckon they could both play that role, but Wilshere more so than Ramsey…if you’re looking at Johnny’s Barcelona tactic which includes two B2B CM’s then they would suit that well.

      • comment avatar chris spaull February 22, 2012

Thanks I was think of mixing yours and jonnys tactics together and also Cavani looks good so far he scored a hattrick against spurs on his debut :)

  • comment avatar Harvster March 3, 2012

Posting here to just rave on how good this guy is. I generally play a 4231 formation with liverpool and i have him as my target man to replace carrol. got him at the start of the 2013-14 season for 28M and boy is he worth it. he had 37 goals and 17 assists in 42 games! In his second season now and he already has 10 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. MAD!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 3, 2012

I think he’s an excellent player, anyone who says differently is doing so because they don’t know how to get the best from him…I say that because he under performs in my tactics, but that’s because he doesn’t suit them.

      • comment avatar Harvster March 3, 2012

Definitely agree that tactics dictate how good a player will perform. I noticed from your earlier comment that you use him as a poacher. He certainly can play that role but IMHO it is a waste of his talent because he has solid stats all around(and for the price you could get cheaper poachers). definitely see him being a complete striker and i am training him towards that. He will hit his peak in the next season or so and i’ll share his stats as a CF then.

Mind sharing what formation you use? I personally feel that damiao is one of the best strikers in the game if managed properly. I have hazard playing right behind him as an attack AM and their link up is superb.

  • comment avatar Gshinhar March 21, 2012

Thank you for your great reports firstly now I signed because your report on him damiao to partner Wayne Rooney for 31.5 million (I offered 20 they wanted 31.5 a man united record he scored on he’s debut aginst schalke I hope he will deliver :)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 21, 2012

I hope he does well for you too mate.

  • comment avatar bale March 31, 2012

HOW YOU HAVE FINISHING 20!! ???

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 31, 2012

This isn’t a screenshot with my training, its someone elses so I can’t answer that. But it’ll just be good training schedules, coaches and first team football.

  • comment avatar Adam Gray April 6, 2012

Damaio goes through phases for me, he will tear up scoring and assisting but then he will have a little barren run with not much happening, would language be my problem here? or another factor, he is relatively new in the team but in my view its been enough time, just a thought…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 7, 2012

I’d say he just needs more time to settle in and to be honest, I have had very few strikers in my time that don’t go through stages like that. I’d say drop him for the tough games when he’s not performing then bring him back in, maybe he gets complacent.

  • comment avatar Rodrigo Rodrigues Dos Santos Junior April 21, 2012

I saw this reports about leandro damiao and i must admit that is totaly right.. He is a killer in the field, in england i play with Spurs and there is not defender that can stop him.Since from 1st season can see him that even has 15 finishing, you will feel it like he has 19.But the most lovely for me is that he scores much more goals than its appearance.
I tried a lot of most quaility strikers but ,he absolutely impressed me much more than anyone

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 21, 2012

He is certainly prolific if you can get the best from him.

  • comment avatar tegar April 29, 2012

This guy is damn awesome! Just wonder, which role should he play? Trequartista or Poacher?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 29, 2012

I think he’s suit poacher best.

  • comment avatar Rodrigo Rodrigues Dos Santos Junior May 1, 2012

    Poacher,indeed

  • comment avatar Simon May 16, 2012

Damiao is THE best striker to buy on fm12 if you ask me, i play him as a target man with reduced creativity and no longshots, high pressure all over the pitch, he has scored 25 and assisted 9 in 23 games for my fiorentina side so far!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 16, 2012

You can’t argue with that record, if used correctly he certainly is deadly.

  • comment avatar Jamie June 5, 2012

I just got Damiao for 25 mill, Is that unusual?

He is on like 95k a wekk thoughand I am Liverpool

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 5, 2012

If its at the start of the game then yeah that is unusual.

  • comment avatar Mark June 7, 2012

hi Darren I wanted to ask which striker would you recommend for me to get?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 7, 2012

That depends on many things really, but you are looking at one of them.

  • comment avatar Benn June 13, 2012

Hi Darren. I just got Damiao and I’m planning on playing him as a poacher. Also, I’m using Maestro’s training schedules as you have suggested. Which training schedule would you use on Damiao? The one for strong or fast strikers?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 13, 2012

the fast striker schedule I’d say mate.

All I can say is thank you very much for recommending Dami – the kid has scored 22 in 18 so far at Arsenal, this is even more impressive when you consider it’s the first season so he’s still not developed. He is amazeballs.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 23, 2012

Glad he’s working for you mate.

      • comment avatar Stuart Granger June 23, 2012

Oh, and I managed to get him for only 30m!

  • comment avatar Greg June 25, 2012

I think leandro is the best striker in the game!!
He scored 34 league goals in the 36 games he played(BPL Manchester United) I highly reccomend him even with the asking price!!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 25, 2012

He can be an excellent asset if used correctly.

I’m currently playing a network game with somebody that has signed Doumbia and Neymar for his Chelsea side. In my second season I decided enough was enough with my injury ridden Arsenal team so out went RVP and I managed to get Damiao in for £16million, I was happy that I got a very good deal which kept true to Arsenal’s transfer policy, but even happier when after 19 games he has scored 22 goals for me. I’m now top of the table with this guy on 22 goals by christmas, whilst my friend is 10 points behind me with both Neymar and Doumbia trailing Damiao for goals scored. If you can get him at all he’s amazing, but for 16mil he’s inspiring!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 7, 2012

Certainly an inspired signing then, while there are mixed reports on Damiao, it seems as though the gamers who know how to get the most from him can enjoy great success.

  • comment avatar BWR July 18, 2012

Damiao is a great player. Have him as Target man in a 433 in Arsenal. So far this season has scored 32 goals in just 12 appearances. Crazy

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 18, 2012

Certainly a good investment with that goal rate.

  • comment avatar Greg Pancoust July 18, 2012

Liverpool got him in the send season of my Dortmund game along with Nico Gaitan and won the Prem. He scored 44 from 37 Appearances for £17.5. The man is just a goal machine he did about the same in my spurs game. Goal for game for at least 8 seasons and my brother has the same sort of figures in his saves.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 18, 2012

cartainly seems like one of the most popular strikers this year.

  • comment avatar Kevin July 18, 2012

i personally love leandro damiao as a striker. In my AcMilan save i have to agree with Darren. He’z an absolute goal machine. I recommend starting him out as a target man or poacher. He scores more as a poacher tho tbh. Never managed such a goalscorer in fm history since Eto’o and ronaldinho for Barcelona back in 2007 or somethin.. But he’z a must buy in my opinion, i got him for 23 mil plus incentives. Max value was about 25 not a penny more. Oh..and he gets alot of ManofMatches

  • comment avatar Kevin July 18, 2012

Oh and I think he plays better with a strike partner as well. But Darren, how on earth did his finishing get at 20???

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 18, 2012

Yeah a lot of people have the same opinion, he is an acquired taste in some aspects but brilliant if suited to your style. As for the finishing, I didn’t manage him in the screenshot above, it was someone else but I’d assume they trained him individually in that area for a prolonged period of time.

  • comment avatar Stuart Granger July 18, 2012

Hey, i read in one of your comments that he doesnt work that well on your arsenal tactic. Did you find a way around this? I ask because he’s dried up completely this season after a prolific first season. I use your Arsenal tactic too, which has brought me back to back CL and EPL titles but this season despite winning everything Vermalen is my top scorer!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 19, 2012

TBH that may well have been when I used the striker as complete forward, but poacher works best in that tactic so if you haven’t already change his role. Failing that it may be that he prefers a two man attack.

  • comment avatar Kevin July 19, 2012

LOL @ Stuart..Vermalen as topscorer ..lol im sorry but thats funni

  • comment avatar Dan Edwards August 9, 2012

i bought damiao for 20mill in 2013 for my wolves team he was really poor as a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 so i changed it to an attacking 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 and he scored 52 goals in 54 games that season so I would recommend playing him with a strike partner

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 9, 2012

A few have said that, but it all depends on your tactic not just him having a strike partner.

  • comment avatar zaky August 15, 2012

Darren can you do a Profile for Wilfred Zaha please.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 15, 2012

I don’t have a good enough future screenshot I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar zaky August 15, 2012

OK Thanks but could you put up a profile for jack cork

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 16, 2012

He’s not good enough I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 21, 2012

I have jamie murphy and carlos fierro upfront they are both goalscoring machines but sometimes they miss sitters so should i get Damiao. Could you also put a profile up of jamie murphy he scored 43 in 57 apps

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 21, 2012

Murphy is a regen I think he’s not in any of my saves.

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 21, 2012

also should i get Hulk, Cavani or Leandro Damiao Im looking for a target man with a good header

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 21, 2012

thanks and what do you mean by regen

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 21, 2012

A regen is a player that your game has made up, he doesn’t really exist, regens are different and specific to every single save.

      • comment avatar FredRead12 August 23, 2012

well hes not a regen because hes in FIFA and he has a picture of him in realality

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 21, 2012

have you ever played hulk upfront because i havent and i would like to know wheather he is good upfront

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 21, 2012

I haven’t used him upfront bar one or two matches with Brazilian where he was explosive but I couldn’t really make a recommendation there.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

Just found him, he’s pretty bad…would never make it in a top side. With you saying he’s a goal scoring machine I assumed it couldn’t be the guy I’d seen.

      • comment avatar FredRead12 August 23, 2012

i think he plays for motherwell his stats LIE

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

Just he has never played even half decent for any club in like 8 of my saves.

  • comment avatar John August 22, 2012

I was able to sign him for only 40 million in the first season

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 23, 2012

If you don’t thinkhe is good enough can you up a profile of Thulani Serero he is a top quaility Central Midfielder he’s from South Africa available for about £9m

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

I would if he’d improved enough in my save but just like Murphy he hasn’t.

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 23, 2012

oh ok but Matej Delac is a young goalkeeper for Chelsea but I think he grows into a Star

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

He can improve to be good but we don’t have a future profile that shows him at his full potential so until we do he won’t be reported on.

  • comment avatar FredRead12 August 23, 2012

    ok, thanks for your replies

  • comment avatar balmora September 4, 2012

    this kid is sick!
I have coached 12 top teams so far and in every case we was both top scorer and mvp later on.
He managed to scored 73 goals in 52 games when i managed Porto…this gives over 1.3 goal on average in every game lol.
I also noticed that it doesn’t really matter what role he plays in my clubs…he does well as either poacher, targetman or even a complete forward.
In most cases he can be signed for about 20 milions in the first season but the price always rises up to 40 milions when he improves and grabs more international appearances.
Btw Darren what do you think of Slovenian youngsters? (especially from Maribor). I have never seen any of then listed here but my scouts from Chelsea rate them really high (there are 3 in Maribor and 1 in Mura Murska, they are all 15-16y old but have 4 stars potential rating and can be signed for 50k-100k).I wonder if anyone developed them into world class players

    • comment avatar Darren Smith September 5, 2012

I haven’t seen anything from many Slovenian youngsters TBH…the ones mentioned either aren’t visible in my save or have never achieved anything.
