Kara’s profile in 2011 (after starting new game, patch 12.2)

Kara’s scouting report from Cagigao of Arsenal

Kara’s profile aged 25 in the year 2015

Kara’s career history until 2015

Kara is an absolute bargain! He can be developed into a defensive midfielder which is what Besiktas have done in the screenshots above, but is equally as good in defence. I would recommend developing him as a central defender due to his height, heading and jumping ability. This guy is an ox and must be picked out for corners and any other set pieces. I think Kara would walk into any mid-table side and develop into a player worthy of first team football with a top four side also. Either way his price tag of just £975K is irresistible.

Best buy rating: 10/10

Well, what a talent, but i can’t reconise this bad stats! Heading, Tackling, speed and marking is over 18 on my CHelsea save, i trained him as a stopper, he have been the defender of the year 5 times in a row in africa and the best premier league deffender 1 time, 2. 3 times!

I agree mate, in my game he’s already grown well beyond the future profile shown. But you need to remember he starts as suited to a DMC position and from what I’ve seen his club used him there for nine years so Kara developed his attributes to suit the role (thats my theory anyway.) Probably the best buy for FM12

i cant find kara when i tried looking for him in the search… not sure why. Any suggestions?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 17, 2011

He should appear mate…try searching his club tromso and look for him in their squad and then the transfers they’ve made as well to see if he’s already left.

      • comment avatar cillo December 8, 2011

im having the same problem.. cant find him at all… cant even find tromso?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

I assume you are using a small database then, you need to load at least the medium database or you’ll miss a lot of teams and players.

          • comment avatar cillo December 9, 2011

ye that must be it… anyway to change it mid-game?

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 9, 2011

I should think the only way to see him now is add the Norwegian top flight in add/remove league, but this only changes at the end of every season so you’ll have to wait or restart. Either way you can’t adjust the size of a database once the game has started.

bought kara for my napoli save. invested in several kids and with canavara as my DC didn’t really need him at the back so play him in DM. breaks everything up, nothing much gets through him and scores 1/3 games from my set pieces. all in his first season! great buy!

Yeah Kara can really score from free-kicks and corners…he’s netted 57 goals in four seasons for me!

  • comment avatar Fuser December 5, 2011

this guy is just the dogs baws!
i play him at DC as ball playing defender. bargin and first name on my teamsheet. (im malaga btw, just won spannish cup and sitting 3rd in league 5 behind Real Madrid, Barca running amok though)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 5, 2011

I too bought Kara with Malaga and he’s been immense.

  • comment avatar Jorge Fernandes December 12, 2011

I’am seriously thinking about add the norway league just to buy him for my napoli. I want a cheap defender, young and with good stats, he seems to be the one!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 12, 2011

He’s well worth it, probably my favourite signing on FM so far.

  • comment avatar Collins December 28, 2011

i take it you have to train him in the position because for me it says he can only play at DMC

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 28, 2011

Yes you would need to retrain him at CM, he is already accomplished in DC but needs training to be natural in that position.

  • comment avatar asdsa December 31, 2011

seems hard to sign him for england clubs

i’ve tried 2 teams, and both teams can’t sign him.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 31, 2011

I assume you mean he doesn’t get a work permit?

  • Pingback:can it get any worse?

  • comment avatar Cjay January 21, 2012

Finally got hold of him after two seasons – work permit issues – on my Arsenal save. Played a little pre-season, did ok. Then played United, had injuries left, right and centre (midfield actually, true story!). As my only CMish option stuck him on for Ramsey (with Aaron’s pre-set instructions, didn’t even think…..) and he scored 5!!!! all from 30 yards plus. I’ve kept him in the middle with Hamsik (sorry Aaron/Jack!) as a box to box and he’s scored 11 in 7 games all from outside the area (including a screamer from just outside the centre circle. Came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in goal of the month for September….. And he only has a long range rating of 9. I know it isn’t only this that determines ability but I’ve never seen anything like it. 14 belters from 22 attempts at goal. May be just a flash in the pan, but I hope not!
    Buy him!!!!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 21, 2012

He is probably my player of FM 2012, the best signing I made with Malaga by far and bagged at least 12 goals a season from corners at centre back.

      • comment avatar Heresy March 16, 2012

Out of necessity, I started playng him as a ball winning midfielder and I can’t say I regret the decission. He’s still my target from set pieces ofc, but also scores amazing goals from the field. Maybe not as often as he does for Cjay, but definitely more than any of my other BWMs. This situation is only temporary for this season but if he continues to put in such performances, I might just let him stay there :P

As far as corners go.. 17 heading, 19 jumping and he still isn’t a reliable goalscorer from corners. I need to get him a good corner taker…

  • comment avatar Tijmen Stronks March 30, 2012

This might be a stupid question, but how tall is he in meters? Is 6″4 +- 1,90 meter?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 30, 2012

      Its 1.9 meters yes.

      • comment avatar Neil August 23, 2012

I cant seem to find him in the game.. searched the team and his name??

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

You’ll probably need a medium or large database loaded.

  • comment avatar Peter May 24, 2012

The big problem for me, is that he’s already at Lille, who obviously won’t let go of him for at least less than, I would argue, 7M. :( I’m playing as 1860 Munchen and, after two months, is on track for promotion – even title-winner, but obviously we’re just going to get relegated again if we don’t invest for the future. I was keeping an eye open for him, but now my hopes are dashed. :( I would advise those of you who want him to move fast, because in almost every save I’ve done about 7 clubs start trying to take him. PS: Any idea who else I can look into perhaps?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 24, 2012

I don’t know who’d sign for you, just check the wonderkids list and see if any of them are interested.

  • comment avatar Rick June 18, 2012

Do you ignore the star rating a little bit? his stats seem really well placed i.e tackling and heading etc. I guess i’m saying is a 3 star player with these stats better to have than a 3 1/5 or 4 star player whose stats may be more spread out?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 18, 2012

Always go by the attributes unless the player is really young in which case you can’t predict his development without help from the scouts. But in the case of players like Kara its obvious he is better than 3 star looking at his stats, the scouts are just looking at overall ability which is very narrow minded, thats why the game can be tough, because there is no way of been certain about a player until you’ve signed him.

      • comment avatar Rick July 2, 2012

Thanks for the advice. I currently have a team full of your highly rated youngsters including this guy and I’m totally focusing on seeing how good I can get them. I’ll try and let you guys know how it ends up.

  • comment avatar berry July 3, 2012

that he will the next sandro at tottenham hotspur? there already had sandro for DMC

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 3, 2012

He can certainly do the job of Sandro.

  • comment avatar Nelson Costa Inácio July 5, 2012

Kara was my 1st transfer on Benfica. I use him mostly as central defender but also as ball winning midfielder

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 5, 2012

Yeah it is always good to have versatility and Kara has great quality in both positions.

  • comment avatar silva July 22, 2012

The future screenshot does not do him justice he improves alot more then that

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 22, 2012

I agree, its common knowledge the CPU almost always under develops players.

  • comment avatar Joe Steele July 28, 2012

I bought him with Chelsea and he needs a work permit. I bought him in June and it is now November and I still don’t have a work permit for him. How long is it before he does eventually get one.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 28, 2012

You need to send him out on loan or or to a feeder club.

  • comment avatar James July 31, 2012

Darren, if you were to choose a centre back pairing out of these players, Kara,Zouma or Rugani. Who would you pick ?

  • comment avatar Alicem September 24, 2012

he always goes to beşiktaş omg :)
