What an amazing player!! 41 caps at the age of 25. His mental stats are crazy for his age!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 10, 2011

Agree mate, he’s my favourite LB in FM 2012

  • comment avatar JPE November 10, 2011

I´m going to buy him and rotate him with my starter Danny Rose. What a crack!
Look at tottenham, they have great youngsters…caulker, rose, townsend, livermore, bostock, parrett, ceballos, harry kane, falque, coulibaly…They have many…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 10, 2011

Sounds good. While those youngsters look very talented I’d be careful because they develop to be good EPL players but not world class…still great for one academy though.

  • comment avatar JPE November 11, 2011

Yes, I know. For me the must buys are:
    GK:
    Luis Guilherme
    Defense:
    Romario-Prestia-Robinson
    Midfield:
Emre Can – Demirci – Kovacic
    Attack:
Mbaye Niang – Vaclav Kadlec – Carlos Fierro – Lenny Nangis

I will either loan them or give them playing time in the Europa League.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 11, 2011

They are all awesome though I still haven’t profiled Demirci and Prestia….their coming soon though :)

  • comment avatar JPE November 11, 2011

Are they going to be soon? I can not wait to see their profiles in the future!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 11, 2011

I’ll have them up within two days mate.

  • comment avatar sixteen December 6, 2011

Can I have the profile for Raphael Varane(MAD)? and Chalobah(CHE)?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 6, 2011

Varane is far too expensive to profile because Real have just signed him and Chalobah isn’t quite good enough I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 8, 2011

Thanks Darren. Back to topic, now I’m in second season and all my bids to Jack Robinson is rejected, highest bid is 15m. When should I buy this player with low transfer cost?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

To be honest I signed him for £7.5 million in second season. Having said that he may be more if moving to an other English club…

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

can you see john flanagan DR from liverpool ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

I can, he’s good and has potential but the likes of Vrsaljko, Romario and Kvekveskiri are far cheaper and develop into much better players from what I’ve seen.

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

hmm ty… their are some few player that i really want to known their evoltuion. if you can tell me

    taufic guarch
    ahmed khalil
    rhys murphy
    ryo miyaichi
    alex chamberlain
    deulofoeu
    rafinha
    vicent aboubakar….

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

OK I’ll try and summarise each player.

Guarch: Good player and can develop well with the right training but not the same standard as Fierro, Kadlec, Niang and Torres etc.
Khalil: Developed well in FM 2011 but I can’t find him in my future save to see his development.
Murphy: Another failed Arsenal product, gets average but no better from what I’ve seen.
Miyaichi: Doesn’t develop in my save at all but that could be down to lack of football…not worth the risk in my opinion.
Chamberlain: Really great wonderkid but needs first team football to develop. His physical attributes develop very well.
Deulufoeu: Develops well but very late and without first team football he can lag behind…other options preferred.
Rafinha: I think this kid has potential but am yet to see it.
Aboubakar: Very nice player, he does well as a poacher but he isn’t better than the usual suspects.

and beasides what do you thunk about heber and dellatorre

both have good atributes for their age

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

I’m not a fan of either to be honest, they are decent but fall into the mediocre category with many.

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

ty .. im training arsenal and i really need a good striker . i have jordan ayew ishak belfodil, and niang and van persie and until none of them convinced me.. and i am on the first season..

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

Ayew and Niang will be very good but they are only young and like any youngster you need to give them at least 2 seasons. You could buy every under 19 year old on the game and not be convinced by them but wait a season or two then they will start to shine.

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

i will do it niang is very young but i giving some game time like ryu but is very difficult to watch when i lost to second line tems like wigan ans stoke xD but besydes that the team is doing well

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

do you check on portuguese teams ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

I know its tough but that’s why raising youth correctly is one of the most difficult parts of the game….especially when you have them in great quantity. I don’t just check leagues, I do filtered searches and pick out clubs as and when I see players I like in game.

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

hmm ok . i will check onportuguese teams. if you can put here some prints .
i know they arent great as niang or even oteher players but im really intrested in them

    tiago lima pereira
    nelson oliveira
    rodrigo
    diego rubio
    pedro mendes
    tiago ilori
    iuri medeiros
    iturbe
    goncalo paciencia
    tobias figueiredo

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

if you do that i apreciated

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2011

To be honest I’d only bother with two of them, Oliveira is a slow developer but does get very consistent and Ilori becomes a fast reliable CB.

  • comment avatar r December 8, 2011

    ty =)

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 13, 2011

Hi Darren, quick check. If I managed to sign Robinson on the age of 19, shall I loan him out to gain experience or just immediately use him as rotation? I still have A.Cole as first team player

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 13, 2011

Definitely use him as rotation…I actually had Robinson as my number 1 left back by season three.

      • comment avatar Sixteen December 16, 2011

Thanks Darren. His current stats doesn’t look good. how about your save? his stats improve alot?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 16, 2011

Yeah he certainly has improved, he does still have the odd bad performance but on the whole worth buying.

  • comment avatar Matt Skeer December 19, 2011

I can’t manage to sign this lad with Malaga because he fails a fitness test so can you please recommend a new signing, (doesn’t have to be a wonder kid, just a decent player).

  • comment avatar Matt Skeer December 19, 2011

It has said twice that the transfer was cancelled due to him failing a medical but your other recommendation certainly looks good. Thanks a lot :)

  • comment avatar Matt Skeer December 19, 2011

Just to tell you Robinson isn’t injured :)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 19, 2011

That is very weird, well I hope you can get someone just as good.

      • comment avatar Fábio Morgado December 23, 2011

I think that José Angel is as good as Robinson. But we have to grab him at the very beggining of the game or else he becomes very expensive

  • comment avatar Oliver January 2, 2012

What would be interesting to know, is the training that Robinson (and others listed on this site) undertook to get to the advanced level published.

Whether they are managed by Darren or the game (AI).

I’m a HUGE Liverpool fan, have really invested in training and I really wanted to keep the youngsters. Robinson has just never cut the mustard :(

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 2, 2012

Most profiles here bar about one are shown with the CPU as manager so I can’t say how they have been trained and developed. Advice on training and developing players can be found at http://www.footballmanagerstory.com

  • comment avatar Jeremy Sitbon January 10, 2012

I have both Robinson and Lucas Digne (former LOSC) in my team, and the latter seems to be a future crack (even better than Robinson, and far better than Rodriguez), have you ever checked him out?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 11, 2012

I have checked him out but he’s not visible on my future saves to see is actual ability unfortunately.

  • comment avatar robert January 29, 2012

Hi darren, firstly this is the best fm site i have ever come across, i am good at finding wonderkids and developing them but dont have time to do them all so its great to sift through them and find what i need for my team, thanks so much for your hard work and from what iv read you put a lot effort into helping others and replying so thanks. Anyway point of the message was Nathan redmond, as a right winger whats your thoughts? i want to a uk based team so thinking of having sterling and redmond as wingers but cant decide if chamberlain would be better?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 29, 2012

Thanks for the compliment Robert its much appreciated. I do take a pride in this site and been able to provide some suggestions for anyone who requires a little inspiration or even needs and entire squad revamp. I like to reply as quickly as possible and be as helpful as possible because I used need a lot of advice when I first started playing FM and there were few sites around that would give a reader the time of day…so its kind of something personal that drives me to put in the hours I do and make sure everyone gets attention.

As for your question, its a tough one. While I believe Chamberlain is better potentially I think Redmond would be better from the off. If you are looking for the best end product go for Chamberlain in my opinion…and Sterling is certainly worth the investment, he was a legend in my Malaga save.

  • comment avatar Adam West February 6, 2012

Hey has anyone tried Lucas Digne from lille? he is always available if you start the french league and in my opinion is better than Robinson :)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 6, 2012

Yeah I have heard and seen really good things…he’ll get a profile as soon as we find a future screenshot worthy of his talent.

  • comment avatar Adam West February 6, 2012

Great if only I hadn’t lost my save I could have shared his awesomeness with you all ;)

  • comment avatar Matt Carre February 25, 2012

Weird that in my game under the exact same training Flanagan has developed into a much better player than Robinson, Robinson is fairly average whereas Man City bid 30 million for Flanagan and he’s shortlisted for world golden ball..

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 25, 2012

I think every game varies in certain areas which is great because that reflects real life.

  • comment avatar Oleat March 8, 2012

How do you play him? On my saves he only get 6.90 in ratings and only comes up in 2 1/2 stars.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 8, 2012

I use him as a full back with support duty but it comes down to the full tactic too I guess. That star rating will vary depending on your other full backs.

  • comment avatar Heresy March 16, 2012

IN this fiture profile Liverpool tried making a DC out of him. And while his marking is excellent, I doubt he’d have any luck in going forward. I tend to coach him a bit on his technique and crossing. 12-13 in both will do. I also train him in preffered moves for going forward whenever possible. This has worked in my previous game to great extent.

2nd season with Malaga, he didn’t want to join even though I came 2nd in La Liga. Same with Wilson… But I have them both on loan, hopefully they’ll want to join at the end of this season.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 16, 2012

Yeah those attacking attributes are the main put off for me, while you can improve them, he never looks dangerous going forward…he didn’t for my Malaga side anyway but then again I just needed him to go halfway before passing anyway.

      • comment avatar Heresy March 17, 2012

I like my FBs overlapping my wingers. Means more people in the box. It’s great if they’re gifted and like helping out in attacks, but the most important thing for me is them being good in defence and not getting kicked out of the pitch every 5 matches like Vrsaljko :) I actually like having one fullback more defence oriented and the other for attacking. The defender takes the tough matches, the other claims the rest :)

      • comment avatar Heresy March 17, 2012

PS. Having 2 equal fullbacks (equal in skill, not in mentality i mean) is actually required for the teams I manage it seems. All because of suspensions for cards due to an attacking tactic :D

  • comment avatar darsnider April 25, 2012

i have him, sime and romario i love those 3 they do awesome for me though i still cant beat champions league lol, the best way to get these guys cheap is to be the loaner then approach right after i got him for 12 mill the first season just by using that tip works well also if they have no intention of joining since they are here it seems to open transfer talks easier

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 25, 2012

Yeah I’ve heard a few people saying that loaning to buy is the best way forward but haven’t tried it yet.

    • comment avatar Heresy April 25, 2012

This strategy doesn’t always work. In my Malaga save I’ve tried it with Wilson and Robinson, who didn’t want to join when I loaned them. Wilson needed to actually play 2 years on loan for my team to open contract talks with me.

Robinson was ‘glad to return to Liverpool’ after a loan spell in Spain despite being called a revelation, getting 30something games and performing better than I suspected of the 18 year old. Liverpool didn’t want to let him go either.. was the kid in for a surprise when, 2 years later, he still hasn’t played a single game for them. Too late to start getting interested there, mate, as by then I had Fabio who was more than happy to join for a massive fee of… 2,2M euro and 35k/week in wages.

Youngsters rarely want to leave a reputable club and getting them on loan is the best way of increasing your chances of a purchase in the future. There’s a risk, however, that, after a loan spell at your club, they will accept their parent club’s contract offer because their talent got recognised thanks to you…

  • comment avatar Jack May 30, 2012

I’ve gotten his tackling up to 17 at age 20, although I did put him on a heavy individual training routine. He’s the perfect replacement for Enrique, and now after a few successful loan spells i’m phasing him in to the first team. His influence is also very good for someone his age, i think he’ll be my captain in the future. Captain Jack!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 31, 2012

Yeah he is an excellent defensive full back, just a shame he can’t do better going forward.

  • comment avatar Saksham June 26, 2012

Hello Darren. I have just started playing FM2012 and I am into my first season. This site had helped me a lot I would say.

One thing I wanted to know was-how do we put playing on training for a particular attribute. I usually do that when the staff gives me advice but I have no idea how can I put a player on training.

    Thanks in advance.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 26, 2012

Just go to the players screen, then go to his training screen and all the option are in the top left area.

  • comment avatar Yayy July 12, 2012

Got him for 1.8 mil in the 2013-2014 season.
Develops into the one of the best left backs in the world.

Great buy if you can afford him, if not wait till he’s a bit cheaper.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2012

Yeah and his price almost always drops.

  • comment avatar Yayy July 13, 2012

Also he has great leadership potential which is so valuable and hard to find in this game. Could well be your Future captain
