Ganso’s profile aged 25 in the year 2015

Ganso’s career history until 2015

This FM 2012 player profile of Ganso shows a top class playmaker born to dictate the flow of a game at any level. Ganso develops into a passing supremo and his future screenshots show the genius that this talented playmaker turns into, his real understanding for the game is almost that of Fabregas. I reckon that leaving Brazil would see the wonderkid developed into one of the most deadliest CM’s in FM. However, the asking price is just ridiculous and this alone drops my rating from 10 to 8, he may be cheaper further down the line but not available too much below that of his minimum release clause.

Best buy rating: 8/10

Why are your future screenshots so bad? Hazard didn’t improve, Douglas Costa didn’t improve and now a screenshot of Ganso who didn’t improve! What’s wrong with your save?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 2, 2011

Yeah must admit some of them are quite bad. The Ganso one is because he stayed at Santos and just couldn’t improve past a certain point in Brazil. Costa just didn’t play for many years as you’d see by looking at his history, don’t know why that is but its the reason for his development and Hazard did improve but not as much as you may have seen in other saves (that one I can’t explain.) Nothing wrong with the save its just how they developed in that one example…for instance I have another save where Costa has developed wonderfully and may well change the screenshots around when time allows.

      • comment avatar Tijmen Stronks December 2, 2011

Yeah, it might be an idea to post the best screenshot you have ’cause that would be more reliable when you train them yourself.
I was hoping a higher rating because I think Ganso will develop into the best playmaker in the game! Anyway, great guide again!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 2, 2011

I agree and over time the profiles will get more accurate but for now I only had a few saves to go off unfortunately. I personally don’t think Ganso will ever deserve a higher rating, not based on ability as I agree with you there but because his asking price doesn’t add up.

          • comment avatar lee April 14, 2012

how do u train,i mean just select the individual attributes one by one? also why is di maria in the reserves for real madrid while they have average players in the 1st team instead, also psg not playing there 40mil signing pastore things like this ruin the fm experiance

          • comment avatar Darren Smith April 15, 2012

I downloaded training schedules which can be searched for on google and then did individual attributes that I felt needed more work.

  • comment avatar error December 2, 2011

His main weakness is his injury proneness imo. So that is maybe a factor why he has declined especially on his physical attributes (stamina balance …)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 2, 2011

Yeah that is a good point, but I honestly believe that he’d excel if offered the opportunity to play in Europe. P.S. why is your username ‘error’?

  • comment avatar Victor December 3, 2011

The asking price is a bit strange. I have the same patch and I was able to get him for 30-35 mil pounds in my first save.
I asked the Manchester United board to negotiate the offer for me after I said he would be an important player.
Also for me he wasn’t too injury prone. He was injured once in my first season for about a month. However the lack of injury may depend on the rating of the club physios.
From personal experience, a highly recommended player.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 3, 2011

The asking price is what you have to pay if bidding yourself from the start of the game…you can’t involve the board unless the funds are lacking and its too longer a process in my opinion. When I list these asking prices its after starting my bids at their value and working upwards….I even negotiate tonnes once they have revealed what price they demand.

  • comment avatar V December 3, 2011

I’ve found out on couple of my saves that Ganso’s price is 22.5m at the start.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 3, 2011

What only £4 million more than his value?? All I can say is every single asking price is extensively researched and I can’t do anymore.

  • comment avatar Alex December 3, 2011

I can give you a screenshot from 2016, bought him for 50M euros and the kid is an absolute must the mental abilities are just ridiculous as well as the other attributes, and yes he is injury prone but it all depends on the physios imo, since he was only injured twice in total in 3 seasons for about 2-3 weeks max.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 3, 2011

Cool yeah I’d appreciate that, send me the link and I’ll change things but could you also send his career history please.

Thanks for that, I’ve updated the profile appropriately.

  • comment avatar Alex December 3, 2011

There is one more brazilian player who deserves his own profile name is Leandro Damiao bought him for 29.5M euros but he is worth EVERY penny, his my top goalscorer and his average is 2 goals per match! I can send you screenshots from 2015 if you want. Thx for the wonderfull work you do with the profiles btw :) I appereciate it :D

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 3, 2011

I agree and Damiao is on the list…I’d like to see your screenshots if you don’t mind, I’ll compare them to what I’ve got and pick the best. But he’s brilliant with such a great scoring record. Thanks for the compliment.

  • comment avatar sixteen December 6, 2011

Can Ganso works well with Hazard? Ganso will be in AP role and Hazard is in AML with IF duty. Im playing 4-5-1 tactics.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 6, 2011

I’d certainly say they can play well together, to be honest I don’t think the combination makes a difference, its more about playing each player in a role that suits them but also serves the team.

  • comment avatar Sixteen December 7, 2011

Thanks Darren, can I have the future profile of Lucas Moura? He seems like a future star player and my current scout treat him as definite purchase.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 7, 2011

I’ve already profiled Moura mate and he’s awesome…take a look in the wonderkid or ultimate list and you’ll see him with 5 star rating.

  • comment avatar James December 19, 2011

Great player I don’t know where you are getting your prices from? I got ganso for 34 million and i picked up lucas moura for 12 million but that was because he asked for a transfer, great job by the way.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 19, 2011

All these prices are based on the very start of a new game, done over two saves with two different clubs and bidding in £2 million increments so I can’t get any more accurate without surveying.

      • comment avatar James December 19, 2011

dont worry i’m not discrediting your work in any way i think these are great, i got them one year in so that would of course affect the prices. Also if you wouldn’t mind could you do a page for nicolas gaitan? i heard united are linked with him and I was wondering if he turns out good on FM2012?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith December 20, 2011

I know you weren’t, the compliment at the end of your comment showed that and was appreciated. I was just explaining the process taken to get these asking prices so its clear because some of them are outrageous ;) As for Gaitan, he is very talented and I recommend buying him, he will get a profile soon.

          • comment avatar James December 20, 2011

ok great i’ll look out for it.

  • comment avatar Martin K December 29, 2011

Its still too much money. I think his too slow for an AMC and as CM Ramsey is cheaper and better.

  • comment avatar Rui December 31, 2011

Man, just started a new save and had so much luck! fisrt of all I started with SL Benfica and was looking for a player like Pablo Aimar, who could replace it. then my scout reported that ganso was available for 25 million euros, but I think it was due to his long term injure (I’m in the beggining of 2012 and he is still injure). so I bought him but only to come in june/july 2012.

I’m so happy that I could get I’m for that price. A big investment for a club like mine both in buying the player and the salaries of 4 million/season. but I think that that position will be very well served for a loooong time! the only negative side is the injury prone that is well explained in his current injure. hope he does just fine in my team…any tips on this?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 31, 2011

I haven’t bought Ganso so can’t offer any tips. However, my friend had him for five years and said he was injured just twice and short term too.

      • comment avatar Rui December 31, 2011

nice! hope he can do the same for me and replace Aimar showing technique and passing skills like him.

  • comment avatar Heresy January 19, 2012

Reading the comments about Ganso being available for anything less than 50M makes my eyes water. Started a new game with Arsenal, just because of the ridiculous transfer budget of 70M if you edit the wage/transfer thing. After negotiations the price they would accept was 62M Euro. Went on holiday for half a year, offered again and this time they settled for 58M. In the 2012 summer transfer window the price went down to 55M. I got bored of baking my behind on holiday so i didn’t pursue it further then. Started another game as Barcelona and the bid of 50M was so low they didn’t even want to negotiate.

I want your hacked games so i can get Damiao on a free and Ganso for 25M and rule the world!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 19, 2012

Yeah to get them so cheap would be extremely lucky indeed.

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

Darren who turns out better out of Ramsey Kroos and Ganso

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

okay thanks for the quick response you just saved me a lot of money :)Is it possible for you to provide a screenshot of how ramsey turns out

      • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

OMG hes FLIPPING AWESOME definately not buying anyone now thanks darren you just saved me from wasting my whole transfer budget

        • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

Also Darren i think you should take a look at Benedikt Höwedes he won pfa player of the year in his first season for me at arsenal and i have players like hamsik and hazard.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith February 5, 2012

No problem Chris, I thought you’d like him :) Howedes looks good but I’ll need to look into his asking price at the start, then see if I can do a profile.

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

i got howedes for around 17 mil but hes worth every penny and was the ramsey future profile done with the cpu managing him

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

Thanks did your players develop well using MUs schedules

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 5, 2012

Yeah but you’d be best to try play the players too as without first team football it doesn’t matter how good the schedule is.

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull February 5, 2012

okay hes defo gonna be in my starting 11 after seeing how well he turns out :) Thanks for all the info and help

    • comment avatar Pau Gasol February 15, 2012

Hello guys. I just bought Ganso and sιnce I also own two fantastic players for AMCs (Kaka and Hazard),and also the left side is taken by Di Maria, I wondered: Is Ganso as effective as a CM as he is as an AMC?

      • comment avatar Darren Smith February 15, 2012

I never use an AMC position in my tactics because I always get inconsistent results, so if I had Ganso I’d use him as advanced playmaker with attack duty in CM. I reckon he’d do well there.

Well he was a bargain but something must be wrong with my save =((( ganso, Wilshere, Hazard, Gotze they dont play half of the spectations!! they play so bad in my save i dont know what am i doing wrong =((

    NeymarST

Apart from cavani any suggestions for good players?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 19, 2012

I can’t think of how you could improve that other than maybe signing Vrsaljko at RB.

  • comment avatar Reece March 22, 2012

On 12.2 I bought ganso for 24mil in july/june 2012…. he wasn’t unhappy or anything

  • comment avatar scouser April 16, 2012

I’m on the latest patch, and in the January 2012 window I got him for 28m (9m up-front, rest over four years)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 16, 2012

I see, well the asking prices shown have been tested only at the start of a new save so I couldn’t confidently comment on the price you got him at other than its a bargain that is for sure.

  • comment avatar joe May 12, 2012

2 seasons in i just got him for £34 million. bargain.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 12, 2012

Certainly a good price considering what he goes for at start of the game.

  • comment avatar Kapizak1 PL June 2, 2012

Bought him in 1st season (January) for £18m! :P
Believe me or not, I don’t use FMRTE or anything like it. I think that something’s wrong with my save – Mamadou Sakho was available for £9.5m at the beginning (pity I didn’t notice that earlier), Chiellini is available for £20m ;D

  • comment avatar wonderboy June 7, 2012

got him for £9m first season summer with Tottenham ;)

  • comment avatar Ned Blackburn June 8, 2012

i got him for 24 million at the end of season 1 – they set an initial price of 40 mil, but i dicked around with clauses and the like and got it donw to that somehow

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 8, 2012

Might be because you didn’t have the Brazilian league loaded maybe.

  • comment avatar Stuart Granger June 21, 2012

He was simply infuriating on my save. Had him for 4 seasons with Arsenal and his stats were magnificent, but he was a nightmare to keep fit. If he wasn’t injured, he was unfit. Paul McGrath had better powers of recovery than him. Could never play more than one game a week, sometimes needed even longer to get to 95% or more. No-one else in my team had this issue and even sticking him on a Ledley King schedule he still wheeled through each game. Great player, if you have a big enough squad to rest him for half the season.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 21, 2012

I have heard that a few times and yet a lot of gamers say the opposite, not sure why there is such a big difference from save to save…maybe some gamers prefer to rotate then modfielders anyway.

  • comment avatar El Shantonio June 27, 2012

Unbelievable AMC, snapped him up for 16,5 mil EUR in my first season with Anji (the russian version of Man City and PSG :P) and he became world class. Creativity never dropped below 20! PLayed him behind Eto and they were indeed lethal. But yes, he was very injury prone. At least he didn’t have any serious injuries. And in my safe I also didn’t have serious fitness issues. But his injuries cost me the Champions League, since his backup Granero was nowhere near his quality.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 27, 2012

Yeah the injuries are probably what stops him been one of the best on every single save to be honest.

  • comment avatar Svan Relac August 5, 2012

i always felt this guy was better on cm than on amc. even though his natural position is amc. hey darren do you think lucas moura can be better than ganso?? and i read so many comments saying ganso is so annoyingly prone to injuries. i mean i dont wanna give 30-40 mil. for a guy that will spend 6 months in a year recovering from an injury

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 5, 2012

Ganso and Moura are too different to be compared in my opinion but they hit a similar level I guess…I can’t comment on the injuries as I haven’t managed him.

  • comment avatar jonas August 14, 2012

who to buy marvin martin or ganso?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 14, 2012

Depends really, if you’re don’t mind risking it with injuries then Ganso if not then Marvin Martin.

  • comment avatar topkop13 August 23, 2012

Darren, thank you again for this amazing guide. Your efforts have made the lives of so many FMers that much more easier, so cheers and beers for that.

I’ve bought Ganso in my game; I’ve had him for 2 years, minimal injuries, played 60 odd games but is yet to really set the field on fire. His stats are amazing; have played him in his preferred role of AP but from a central midfield position as I don’t play with an AMC (his natural position). I’ve played him there for 2 years now, all the time having put CM as his new position in training (yet for that to become natural, still accomplished) and still he’s averaging a 6.9.

What do you reckon I can do to get more out of him? I’ve asked him to improve his play, no luck. Dropped him, no luck. Feel like I’ve exhausted most options and I don’t want to sell him since his stats are wicked.

All thoughts/advice will be appreciated. Thanks man.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

I would suggest that you’re expecting him to perform really really well and above your other players but in reality if you have three players in more attacking positions then they’ll tend to get the goals and assists while Ganso does the grunt work. I wouldn’t take it as a negative. Not everyone can have amazing av ratings in your team, it depends who is your focal point…I’d only worry if you aren’t winning.

      • comment avatar topkop13 August 23, 2012

Well, I am winning…but it’s just irritating to see a wonderful player not reap the rewards of his talents, but you’re probably right in that he probably does the grunt work, and you were also right in that I do have three more attacking players who do more of the assists. However, I do have Ganso set as the playmaker from CM.

But overall, I will take your assessment that I might be having high expectations of him. Thanks man!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 23, 2012

The reason I say all this is because I experience a similar thing with my AP CM’s, they tend to score a few and maybe assist between 10 and 12 a season but no more.
