Ahmed Soukouna’s career history until 2014

This FM 2012 player profile of Ahmed Soukouna may not show a world class star but does show one of the best free signings. You can get Soukouna with all top flight clubs and most second tier clubs too. He can have an impact for relegation threatened top flight teams and below from the start of the game, then after three seasons could be a first team player for any mid-table side. His pace and general poacher skills are enough to score goals and create problems for the opposition, most certainly the best free signing under the age of 22 in my opinion.

Top flight best buy rating: 7/10

Championship best buy rating: 10/10

I guess I could use this dude for Koln. Maybe I can prise him away from Tenerife. I dismissed him early on when his Agent offered his service. Now I see how wrong I was

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 25, 2011

I reckon you could do better next season than him, but for free they don’t come much better with a similar age and potential.

      • comment avatar N.Loureiro November 25, 2011

I could just sell Podolski but that would be just imploding all that I have done so far. Do you have any more recommendations? I am content with my GK and my defenders but I do need midfielders and strikers. My scout told me to sign one Johannes Geis but again he’s too expensive for Koln. Maybe I’ll try to get young blood on loan. In my save game Chelsea bought Jesé and Nanguis and both have been listed for loan. Would you recommend them as January signings?

        • comment avatar Darren Smith November 25, 2011

I really don’t think those two midfielders would be much use short term, you’d need to develop them over seasons. How about Ruben Yttergard Jensen from Tromso? He’s a class CM for around £1 million but I bet Malaga have already snapped him up

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro November 25, 2011

funny thing…either I am writing his name wrong or the fact that I don’t have the Norwegian league as rendered him non-existente.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 25, 2011

Weird, maybe try searching Tromso for him and their transfer history to see if he’s been sold.

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro November 26, 2011

nope…well, I added the league in-game, so let’s hope for the best.

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro November 26, 2011

also, could you post profiles on Narsingh and Shaqiri? My friend bought them for his Porto side and they’re both highly rated when you consider it’s Porto. I’d like to know how they develop.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 26, 2011

Well hopefully he’ll pop up soon….as for those two players Narsingh isn’t very good but then again he doesn’t play for the best club and Shaqiri is a good player, he takes time to grow but is very good so I’ll do a profile on him.

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro November 28, 2011

So, Marseille and PSG want Podolski. I am willing to let him go if they give me 35+ millions. Thing is, should this happen, I will need a proper striker and preferably German (but am open to other options). So I thought of Pierre Michel Lasogga. Still, he’s not quite Poldi and plays better as a Target man as opposed to what my system favours (a poacher). How does Lasogga develop? And would you recommend him? Or do you have other cheaper options?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 29, 2011

I would not recommend Lasogga and the problem is I can recommend all the players within these lists but don’t know if they’ll be interested in your club.

I have this guy for my Brescia side in Serie B, hes become an instant hit with the clubs fans.

Im on course to win Serie B and once I gain promotion I will be looking to sell him and bring in Erik Torres.

I will also look at bringing in Shaqiri, and Mateo Kovacic.

I want to keep my squad young and try to develop them as players.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 12, 2011

Sounds like a good plan, you’ll just have to hope all your targets are still available. My best recommendation on the cheap is Kara and Fierro.

  • comment avatar Piticul December 22, 2011

I have him at Steaua Bucuresti, Romania and last season he scored 29 goals in 27 matches. Also he won Goalscorer and best player in romanian league & he was in the team of the season, romania.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2011

Soukouna looks like the sort of player that could eat up a domestic league like Romania.

  • comment avatar Thomas December 28, 2011

How good does Marco Verratti get? I know everyone knows of his obvious talent at Pescara, but does he get great ratings by the age of 25/26?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 28, 2011

Verratti’s profile is available from the wonderkids list. He develops much better than I have shown though (if raised correctly.)

  • comment avatar Sameer Thakur May 19, 2012

Could you please do a profile of Darwin Quintero? His stats are not that great bt he is a goal machine. 47 goals in 27 games for Nottm Forest in the fiest season. then 34 in 35 games in the prem league, euro cup and the carling cup. top scorer in euro cup with 20 goals. He is the reason why i have won 2 consecutive carling cups. He erick torres, griezzman and sidney sam totally kick ass.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 19, 2012

While he won’t be profiled for the top flight lists he will be profiled for the Championship list which is coming soon.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 19, 2012

I’d love to see a screenshot of Quintero’s career stats and his future profile (need the ‘overview’, ‘profile’ screen.) Just so I can use it in my post.

  • comment avatar Sava May 29, 2012

I got it with Levski (Sofia) and after 1 season I sold him for 2mln, because I have Fierro. Is this a mistake?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 29, 2012

I don’t think that was a mistake, Fierro will be ten times to player Soukouna is.

      • comment avatar Sava May 29, 2012

What about Semir Stilic, Martin Zeman, Zakaria Labyad, Pepe Sauare, Mykola Morozyuk? They’re in my team too.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith May 29, 2012

I haven’t managed such a team so no way of knowing the standard needed to be honest but Labyad will certainly be worthwhile.

  • comment avatar neutronstar44 June 3, 2012

Great Championship player. Scored 37 goals in my first year at Doncaster. However, didn’t really do anything in the pl.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 3, 2012

He certainly is and while you’re right in that Soukouna doesn’t do wonders in the top flight, he can provide decent backup.

      • comment avatar neutronstar44 June 3, 2012

yes, i mostly used him as backup for nangis in the AMR position. I do wish that his composure was a little higher or for the matter that he developed his composure faster. I had him on individual training for two seasons and he went from a 12 to 13 with little to no change in finishing. Finally ended up selling him.

  • comment avatar NLoureiro June 25, 2012

I think I have made him slightly better than the profile above:

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 25, 2012

Not enough difference to change the screenhsot though, I’d rather show a slightly worse player as the CPU manager TBH.

      • comment avatar NLoureiro June 25, 2012

I said I made him slightly better, not turned him world class.

Well, I reckon I won’t be able to do much more but at least he has a top striker’s composure now.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith June 25, 2012

I know, I never said you were claiming you made him world class, just that it isn’t enough of an improvement to change the profile.
