FM 2011 player profile – Leonel Galeano

FM 2011 cheap players

written by Darren Smith

Leonel Galeano

Age – 18 years old

Position – Centre back

Club – Independiente

Nationality – Argentine

Value –£2.1 million

Price tag – £4.5 – 7.0 million

Media comparison – Touted as the next Walter Samuel

Galeano’s starting attributes

I started a new game and the above screenshot is that of Galeano’s starting profile. The Argentine centre back already has decent attributes and lots of room to grow at just 18 years old. Galeano joined Independiente a few years ago and is relatively new to Football Manager. I attained a scouts report from Arsenal’s Cagigao, he seemed impressed with Galeano. Rating the Argentines current ability at a two star and potential ability at three and a half star. However, I feel this report under rates the 18 year old.

During my Ultimate European Challenge, I noticed Galeano after accepting the Argentina national job. This was in 2015. The centre back signed for Real Madrid in my game and has become one of the best players around. Galeano is available for £4.5 – 7.0 million. Take a look at his attributes in 2015, while playing for Real Madrid.

After four or five seasons, Galeano becomes a real beast. His potential is undeniable and those fairly low physical and mental attributes shoot through the roof. Of course, this wonderkid needs a decent training schedule and will benefit from first team football early on. Setting him to attack the far post during corners as the taker aims for the far post can provide lots of goals.

Leonel Galeano in real life

Galeano made his Intependiente debut during August of 2009 vs Newell’s Old Boy’s. His first goal followed shortly after in October and is now 19 years of age. Leonel has scored 5 goals from 60 games for Independiente and is now a first team regular.

My best buy rating – 9/10

Must admit I liked him a lot when first playing FM 2011 but not sure he’d suit my tactics. I’ll research a little more though and see if he’s worth a profile. Good recommendation though. :)

He looks like a quality player Darren, thanks for the tip, I’d never heard of him before. Will try and buy him if I start a game with a top flight team.

He is quality Laxeyman and a player that went under my radar until managing Argentina. Definitely worth the cash!

yann m’vila!i know hes sorta famous now since he played against england but hes an absolute beast in the game and i was able to get him for 5mill in my second season with middlesboro and turned into best defensive midfielder in game after few seasons, also since he plays for rennes he will go to alot of teams!proper good buy.

He certainly is a great player Chris. M’Vila’s a midfielder I look at when searching for big strong players. He’s got the talent to play in any team, I’ll make a note of him and maybe do a profile in the future. :)

I remember when I was Liverpool I wasn’t sure if I’d buy Galaeno. In the end I didn’t, got Phil Jones instead and in my opinion he’s a better defender. He’s English as well… Galaeno is a great defender though, looks very reliable!

Galeano has become a beast on my game, but Phil Jones is also a great buy. Could cost more depending when you buy him, but a great centre back all the same. Its always good to go for the English talent if managing there. :)

Hi Darren,
Haven’t commented in a while but kept reading. Firstly I want to say I hope you do lots of these as they are usefull and showing the starting attributes and attributes when older is very good. I have a suggestion of a good player for right at the begginig. His name is Miranda, Plays for Sau Paulo and is a 25 year old centre back. I think he can be got at a decent price.

Heya Frank, hope your well mate its been a while since I’ve heard from you. Glad you like the idea and yes I’ll be doing plenty of these, it just depends on how busy my week is as to how many though. We’ll see but I think one a week or every two weeks would be good. I am aware of Miranda, he’s a good player and at a decent price, I’ve noted him down for a profile and will see what other options there are as to whether I include him. Thanks for the tip mate. :)

Hi Darren, nice that you’re doing player profiles too, theres an interesting central midfielder from my UEC called Alexandre Coeff who plays for Lens in Ligue 1 who i got for free because his contract was running out first season, i think he has great potential and deserves a look

Darren Smith
Guest

Thanks for the tip mate, Coeff is talented but doesn’t progress in my game without first team football. I’ll note him down to keep an eye on though. Cheers.

Serder Serderov of CSKA Moscow, he is 15 but not a regen at the start, does he have any potential?

Cheers Jimbo, I’ll look at both of them in more detail as they’ve failed to impress in my games so far. Maybe they need the right guidance. Thanks for the tips and I will look at them. :)

how about jonjo shelvey

Darren Smith

Yep he’s a great player…though I think most people would avoid him due to just signing for Liverpool…could be worth a profile though Jimbo. Another name hits the list :)

Hey Darren,

Nice find!

Have a look at Nuri Sahin from B. Dortmund.:)

Darren Smith
Guest

Thanks GS Fan, I’ve tracked Sahin for the last three FM’s. One of my favourite CM’s but could have a big price tag…great tip though mate.

GS Fan
Guest

He is hard to sign and his price tag keeps going up and up.

Another Turkish player to track is Emre Colak of, wait for it, of course Galatasaray (hehe)

He comes very close to Nuri Sahin territory. Young and talented.

Darren Smith

Cool, I’ll take a look mate…wow, I have a lot to look at!

MortyG

Jonjo shelvey Becomes a World class Midfielder, and is good for 20 goales and 25 assist every season as a Centre midfielder:) Bought him for Liverpool at the age of 21.
Danny Wilson from Liverpool also gets great attributes, if ur looking for a good Centre back.

Darren Smith

Thanks MortyG, I have both players down as full of potential too and may do a profile on them. Wilson is one of my favourite CB’s, very versatile!
