Name: Alphonse Areola

Age: 17

Position: GK

Club: Paris Saint-Germain

Nationality: French

Value: £1m

Price tag: £9m (patch 11.3)

Areola at the start in 2010

Areola starts at PSG as the 2nd best 17 year old keeper out there, as I believe that Delac is the only 17 year old keeper that is better than this guy. He is a huge prospect and definitely one to look at if you want a good, young keeper. His price is very high for a 17 year old, the only 17 I can think of that costs more at the start is Muniain, so the money could be better spent elsewhere. But if you have just been taken over by Qatari investors or you are Man City, here is why you should buy him:

His potential is great, comparing him to Almunia doesn’t give the best result because, honestly, most youngsters would look good compared to Almunia. I reckon Areola can become as good as Joe Hart with the proper training and a decent amount of game time at a young age.

Areola in 2019, aged 26

Areola has improved a lot, especially technically, and was key for Shakhtar before being released. He isn’t the best out there, but he is a good player and can become much better than he has in this particular save.

My Best Buy Rating: 7/10

Average rating because of his huge fee and, as you can see from his future profile, he can turn out to be an average player who isn’t worth even half of the £9m you would have to spend to get him.

Probably the best keeper prospect at the beginning of the game, but like you said he is expensive

I got him for £2 million at the start of the game with my Celtic save, he was listed by request so I got a bit lucky I think for an awesome goalkeeper
