Joel Valencia’s profile aged 21 in the year 2016
Joel Valencia’s career history until 2016
This FM 2012 player profile of Joel Valencia should leave you drooling, in fact no, you shouldn’t have time to drool as you frantically rush to start up the game and buy this new found talent! While Valencia doesn’t stand out as a youngster his potential is here for all to see in the future profile above taken of the wonderkid aged 21 in 2016. That shows what Valencia can grow to if managed well, the screenshot is from Pedro Silva’s game and you must agree he has done an excellent job raising Valencia who looks incredible and still has many more years of developing to go. Seeing attributes in acceleration, agility, pace, crossing, dribbling, technique, determination and first touch make this kid one of the best wonderkids I have ever seen from an FM series. And you can have it all for just £875K, if I could I’d rate him 11/10!! Please do note though that Valencia has flexible potential meaning he may not have the ability to reach this level in your game, but he’ll still develop into a great player even if short of what you see above.
Best buy rating: 11/10 (that’s right, he defies mathematics!)

just amazing is development im wating for him on the transfer list of jannuary like andersen. i really hope to make this kid this great.
which kind of train should i give to him ?
He is a beast, I have emailed Pedro to ask for some info, but don’t know if the email address I have is correct so we’ll see.
is there any chance we can get some tips on how Pedro Silva got players like gaitan sanogo and now joel valencia to such a high level, training schedules and indivdual focuses and stuff. This would be very helpful thanks!
I have emailed Pedro asking him to look at these comments and reply accordingly if he has time…but I’m not sure if I have a real email address for him or if he left a dummy one as some people prefer not to hand out their details which is understandable.
Hi, love your site, was wondering why you dont do many domestic players. Kinda wana see Alex Chamberlain, Miyachi, Wilshere, Ramsey, Phil Jones and Ravel Morrison.
Thanks mate, as for the domestic thing its usually because they are so highly priced I don’t think they warrant a profile. And the only reason they reduce is because their not been played and when that happens they don’t develop anyway. Until I see great future profiles for these players and/or an acceptable price I can’t really warrant profiling them over the dozens I have backed up yet to do.
To be fair this guys stats aren’t even that good, he isn’t an all round player, just quite like Aaron Lennon with pace and dribbling. His assist ratio is amazing though even from the start!
Rather than repeat the same comment twice I’ll revert you down to Arsenal Goons comment below. I agree with what he is saying.
He is a quality player, i can see that but he’s more Lennon than Messi or Ronaldo. What position do you play him? AMR Winger? Would inside forward work?
Inside forward would work too yes, but it depends more on your tactic than him personally in that area. As for the Messi, Ronaldo thing you could say that about anyone, as no one can touch those two. But he’s leaps and bounds ahead of Lennon…the numbers say that on there own.
What training schedule does Pedro Silva use as he did the profile of Sanogo I think and he turned out amazing so what does he use ?
I have emailed Pedro asking him to pop by these comments and share some information but I don’t know if the email address is right so fingers crossed.
have to disagree Nick. He has the stats needed for his position. That why his assists are so high. The useful stats for a winger are maxed out and the stats he doesnt need so much arent. Crossing, dribbling and speed mixed with technique. You cant go wrong
Couldn’t agree more.
His determination is amazingly low though. I dont usually buy players if they have determination below 14-15 What are your thoughts on this Darren?
I used to be the same, but since FM10 when I signed a regen with 8 determination who developed incredibly I have changed my outlook. I always say that determination and work rate and help someone grow massively and perform better, but it doesn’t stop them from growing or performing if its low…not all the time anyway, its more a case of judging from what you see.
And his determination can grow if you ask one of your older players with high determination to tutor him. I’ve done in the past, and I still do, I like to have my players with high determination, altough I don’t know the exact effect it has (or if it has any) during a match for example.
Determination is an important stat for coming back from a goal down etc. It used to be a tip that popped up on an older FM like 2009 or something. It makes them fight harder like Patrick Vieira in his prime.
i assume pedro silva was lucky to get that “version” of joel valencia. in my save game (i cheat a bit by using genie), joel has only 4 professionalism, 6 ambition, 9 determination. theres no way my joel will come as good as pedro silva’s one
You can’t say that really, not unless you have personally developed him and not reached the same level. I have looked on one of my saves and at 20 he has been with a rubbish French side, played very few games and still developed well…certainly not to the level seen above but what I have seen indicates Valencia can hit the attributes shown if used correctly, even if you need to wait a few years more than Pedro did.
Yeah Valencia has T determination on my save and he is also fairly proffesional
7*
but the kid as evolved very well. don take the credit from someone that can train and have some better trainging schedules than yours.. joel valencia is a machine and is online 21 years i really hope that pedro silva gives s a print from joel with some age. this kid is just amazing could be the palyer that make a diffrence bettew a lostor winned game.
I think that players can be different in games, but they don’t vary as much as some may try to suggest…you can get Valencia to this level, you just need to know how to develop youth.
Hi, like some of you said I was lucky, because my Joel Valencia already had some good attributes in the work rate, determination, and those hidden ones (for those I used genie scout, I guess it’s the only way you can see them, like profissionalism, etc. (My brother has him to, and he doesn’t have the same attributes, and hasn’t developed the same)
I bought him right from the start, first I trained him on his speed, because it wasn’t very high at first, and I like my wingers to have alot of speed. When he had speed and agility around 16/17, I started training him on dribbling, until he had 17, then crossing a little more on speed, and again dribbling, for my type of wingers I like them quick, with alot of dribbling, and some crossing, given that I have a man like Sanogo, I have to give him enough balls to score.
When he got to 18 years old he was already amazing, and had amazing numbers at the under 18′s. So i thought about loaning him, or moving him up to the first squad. I thought that loaning him to a lower squad wouldn’t serve him any good, so I sold my backup winger, and moved him up.
I also had him playing for the reserves team, at the same time. So he would play at wednesdays for the reserves, and on the weekends he would play in the under 18′s. I don’t know what kind o effect it will have on him, when he gets older, given that I pushed him hard at such a young age, hw would get around 50/60 games in the reserves and under 18′s. Plus some more in the senior team. (he had like 25 goals and 30 assists).
Also, even when he was 16 he was the starter for cup games. In Portugal, with luck in the draw, he get weak teams in most of the rounds, so I would play him in every match. That would give him around 10 senior games combining the portuguese cup, and the league cup.
If I was able to win the championship early, I would give him minutes in the first team, in the remaining games (I had already won, so there has nothing to lose), if I went to the last game of the group stage of the Champions League, already with my place secured, I would play him for more experience.
About the same with Sanogo, but Sanogo amazed me, i wasn’t training him on the physicals, and in two or three months he had an amazing boost, we gained two values in almost every physical, blew my mind away.
Gaitan I focused on the dribling, he was already quick enough so, I wanted to make him a dribling machine.
If I’m allowed I’ll post the link to the training schedules I used.
And if someone wants to know, he’s PA is 180, which helps alot of course. He was alreadyreached it, at such a young age, but he has now developed his crossing up to 19.
Any more questions I’ll be glad to answer.
Sorry for the long comment, and any mistake I might have written.
One thing I forgot, is that I can’t really get my players to develop in the mental attributes, which it’s quite a shame, It’s definetely his weak point.
Thanks for all the information Pedro, it’ll be very helpful for the readers and thanks for the screenshots too.
P.S. You can post the link to those training schedules if you like.
http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/245481-Raver-training-sets?highlight=raver
I got them from here. The link is in the second post. It also has instructions on how to use them. It’s from FM2011, but the version 4 he has there works really well in FM2012.
i dont know why but I can’t open the link for the training, If u can upload it somehow I will super appreciate it.. I really need helps in building this Valencia kid.
thanks!
You’d need Pedro to put the file up for down load as I can’t access it either, but to be honest don’t think he’ll drop by here.
pedro i have the schedule where should io put it ?
Wow, This guy…my scouts don’t think much of him but they recomended his team-mate Kevin. His full name is Kevin Lacruz, I think. Can you check him out and see how he develops?
He’s decent but hasn’t developed on my saves….not worth a profile with the information I have.
See, this is what I love most about Football Manager. These players. There are a lot more like this on the game and when you find one, it’s fantastic. I’d advise you to look at Man United’s Adnan Januzaj for a similar 11/10 rating.
Out of curiosity, is Joel Valencia related to Antonio Valencia. Both Ecuadorian, right wingers, any relation at all?
Is there any news on a defender named Rhodolfo? Is this just a regen in my game or is he for real?
I have seen someone by that name who is like 24 or 25 years old. He is good but played terribly for Arsenal in my game so I have decided not to profile him despite the good looking all round attributes.
Rhodolfo is a real player and currently plies his trade at São Paulo in Brazil. He was one of Juventus’s target during the winter transfer window but Juve decided and rightly so to bring in a renewed Martin Caceres.
Here is his profile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luiz_Rhodolfo_Dini_Gaioto
And here’s him again in a Goal.Com article: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/11/14/2754724/from-casemiro-to-rhodolfo-through-damiao-gabriel-silva
darren could you sdk pedro silva ao does rodrigo from slb turn on since is training slb. im intrested in sining him
In my save he wasn’t any good, Sold him after loaning him in the first season. He had a PA of 130, or 140.
I’ve seen some prints of him in which he was amazing. I guess it dependes on the save.
*ask
Sorry, I will not be emailing Pedro with questions…it feels inappropriate as that is his personal space, he can reply to you here if he wants. Asking him to drop by and answer the questions on those screenshots was one thing, but I don’t want to drag him into a Q&A session that he may not want to be in.
I think he really need to be retrain to the left where he can play as inside fwd, because he is right footed only he can’t play as right inside forward right? Yes he can play as ‘wingers’ on the right but classic winger don’t work at FM.
Also his finishing and composure is quite low, think he’s gonna waste lots of chances when he skinned 4-5 players but missed the one on one with the keeper
In my tactics I have the wingers switching sides during the match. I Havn’t trained him in that position yet, because it occupies a big amount of training and I wanted to develop him first.
He actually scores some goals, despite his finishing being very low.
Something I forgot to mention last time, is that, I like to train my players first in the physical attributes (if they need to). I think it’s easier for them to develop those attributes at a young age. Then I prefer to train the technicals. The mental part I usually leave for last (unless the player has an great fault at composure for exemple).
Pedro Silva has obviously used fmrte with joel valencia as his PA only ever reaches 170 max.
Hmmm, interesting how you change your name for the negative comments. As for the slander above, you can’t know that as PA does change and there are other side effects of FMRTE that do not show in Valencia’s profile above…therefore your comment is out of order. If you want to get proof then please do and tell me as I will take the profile down straight away…however, without solid proof your comment is slander and I don’t stand for it, other sites may encourage bullying but I don’t…
http://footballmanager.wikia.com/wiki/Potential_Ability
As you can see there, for the youngsters, the PA is variable.
-8 = 130-160
-9 = 150-180
-10 = 170-200
For a player with -9 PA, he will get a PA betwen 150, and 180.
Actually, in my save Joel doesn’t have 180 of PA, he has 175 (not much difference), I’ve confused him with Abdallah Yaisien which is my other winger, and has 180 of PA (and also Luis Guilherme).
But to show that Valencia could have 180 of PA, here you go.
Open the Editor of FM2012. Load the DB. Filter by player with this:
http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/9948/filtrow.jpg
It’s in portuguese, but it says potential ability, and it filters every -9 and -10.
Wow, look who shows up:
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7911/joelt.jpg
Joel Valencia. And has you can see here: http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/1183/joel2d.jpg
He has a PA of -9.
Look who also shows up: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/3523/luisoc.jpg
Luis Guilherme.
And he is also a -9: http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4074/luis2v.jpg
So, yeah, Joel can have 180 of PA. It’s just a matter of being lucky.
And, just to be clear, no I didn’t edit his PA with FMRTE.
If he had a low PA, I would’ve just bought another player.
Sorry about the prints being in Portuguese Darren, but I didn’t know how to put the editor in English.
Thanks for clearing that up Pedro, I don’t like people who make false accusations with no evidence but I’m glad you could prove, categorically, that no one can question the screenshot. I have actually been looking for a way of doing that, but you managed to word and structure it far better than I could. If Jon would like to apologize for his inaccurate comment then I’m all ears, sure that won’t happen though
Ah that’s what the -9, -10′s are for. I knew it was random rating but wasn’t sure exactly how. So basically anyone on -9 can be world class 170+PA but could also be average premiership players <160PA and everyone on a -10 rating like Sanogo in FM11 is guaranteed world class.
That’s the theory, but remember no player is guaranteed to hit their PA, that only happens with first team football and the right coaching.
So, first question. What are the side-effects of using FMRTE, Darren?
@Jon
I don’t mean to pry but Darren is correct. Joel Valencia is the type of player that most likely starts with a -n attribute for PA. Meaning that it will never be the same in three different saves. He can have 170, he can have 160 or 167…So no, your argument has little validity.
The person above is me. I just mispelled my e-mail.
The only other side effect that categorically means someone has changed a player is when an outfield player has an attribute of higher than 1 for goalkeeping. I don’t know if that attribute changes most of the time or rarely but its a dead give away.
Hmmm, I always thought it could do serious damage to your game. I mean, I have seen people of mine using it to get Top Players transfer listed just so they can get them to Join SCP or Porto and even SLB
I mean that has to carry side-effects too, right?
Yeah well its cheating in my eyes. If you change the game in any way you’re cheating especially to change a player through FMRTE. I personally hate the thing as it leads to people like myself who play the game properly and just know how to win being accused of using it. But to answer your question I think it has side effects yes, if you change the game then that is a side effect.
“I personally hate the thing as it leads to people like myself who play the game properly and just know how to win being accused of using it.”
-
I feel your pain, mate. I too have been accused of cheating. Especially with my Arsenal and FC Bayern saves from FM11. Especially with latter because I went undefeated in all competitions I was in. It’s not hard to pull that when you manage Bayern Munich.
I often find its people who struggle to win while they are using such cheating methods that make the accusations too
Truer words were never spoken. It also speaks highly (or lowly, depending on how you look at it) that Person A cheats and still manages to struggle.
Some people should just not play the game.
I just think that if you cheat you will never learn how to overcome the difficulties that caused you to cheat in the first place. I used to be crap back in FM08…but rather than restarting or cheating I kept going and eventually learnt how to respond to bad defeats etc. That is why I get so offended when my hard work is labelled as that of a cheat, I learnt how to do what I do the hard way, through a lot of hours and getting pissed to the point of wanting to throw my laptop against the wall lol But I’m glad I did it because had I not I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the game the way I do.
FM08…I have fond memories of that game but a very bad one. I kind punched my laptop screen in a fit of rage after I lost the AFCON final to Senegal – I was managing Egypt.
Lucky for me, my brother’s recently “deceased” laptop was of the same make and model so all I did was look up a vid in youtube and switch the screens.
Also, it should be noted that it wasn’t until I saw your Set-piece article that I started tweaking with those options. Before, I used to just park Van Buyten/Luisão on the far post and Badstuber/Lucio whoever it was that Bayern/Benfica/Chelsea/Milan had on previous games by the near post. It was my only flaw but thanks to you I corrected it, Darren. Thank you.
Well I’m glad the set pieces helped, I tend to change things around for the teams I manage and as they evolve I try to evolve my though process with them, that is how I come up with new tactics etc, some work some don’t but that’s what FM is all about, experimenting to see what works.
We never stop learning during the course of our lives.
Does anyone know how pedro’s game layout is like that?
Pedro would have to answer that, I’m not sure as I am happy with the default skin.
I use a new skin (Benfica skin, created my a Benfica fan), that I’ve downloaded.
Pedro Silva, is there anyway we could download your benfica game? Thanks!
what is a genie scout? Something that get scouting all the best players? Much of the romance is also to “raise” players that dont become mega stars but that you still get attach to.
Genie scout is a tool created to help gamers find the best talent, but I don’t know any more than that as I do not use it myself. As mentioned one of the best parts of FM is finding the best talent yourself through hard work and plenty of searching, in my eyes genie scout is another way of cheating so to speak, but everyone plays the game their own way I guess.
I have managed to pick up Valencia and Giuseppe Prestia from Palermo at the start of my third season. They have been completely neglected for the previous two seasons but I’m managing to give them a few games. If I give them around 15 games this season will they be fine?
I would say so, but you need to be training them correctly too…every game is different but they should develop well if treated well.
Hahaha, I bought him for cheap in the first season on my Liverpool save as a “yeah, maybe he’ll be okay for backup in a couple of years” player. Never realised how much potential he had, really. Since seeing this profile, I have started playing him a bit more often. He’s had 4 starts now, and 1 sub appearance … and he’s gotten 3 Man-of-the-Matches with an average rating of 7.62.
Very impressive, will work hard to develop him!
Oddly enough though, he never really ‘lit up’ my Under 18′s or Reserve squads with performances, which is probably why I didn’t take note of him…
Yeah sometimes you can have an opinion of a player that is completely changed by one single screenshot, quite funny really and one of the reasons I love FM.
I have to say he’s been certainly a flop in my game. I’m in 2019 and he is playing for Bristol City (League 1), and doesn’t even make their first team.
Yeah the problem is that he has such a large jump to make from his CA to PA that the CPU just isn’t good enough to get him there. Obviously just because a player has a certain potential doesn’t mean he’ll always hit it, it depends on how he’s developed.
Darren could you have a look a Luis Alberto who plays for Sevilla Atletico (the Sevilla B team). This a gyazo of his current stats if gyazo works? http://gyazo.com/f3033f9283cb53fd4f54db72d8cfcf1c
I checked him but Alberto hasn’t improved enough in any of my future saves, he looks quite talented but not done enough for a profile I’m afraid.
Alright thanks anyway. I think he just gets left to rot in that B team
In my Fullham game he hasn’t developped well enough. I gave the same amount if not more first-team game time than Pedro had. He’s decent but not mindblowingly good.
One suggestion, Darren. Perhaps you could give 2 screenshots – one where a player is developped by human managment, and another one with CPU managment.
Because when you see all those amazing stats, you can’t help but to buy the kid, but it doesn’t mean he will turn out amazingly for everyone. Not everyone has the touch and not all attributes are the same in every game. Perhaps with 2 screenshots, an average player can see what might become of a youngster when he’s properly managed and what can average managment (CPU) do to him. An average player should achieve the average of the two screenshots
To be honest doing two profiles would be a little pointless as I don’t have a CPU developed and human developed profile for most players, only a few and I mention when a profile is developed by someone anyway. I try and find the profiles that show a player to his full potential (I say try because sometimes it isn’t possible to find.) This is because its easy to know how an average player develops but some don’t know the top class ones.
Fair enough
I’ve been so dissapointed with Valencia after seeing Pedro’s profile but it’s been very naive of me to believe I could develop him just as well
To be fair there is a chance that his end PA is different in your save to what Pedro has which he mentioned further up, that may explain things too.
Is there a Profile for ravel morrison or paul pogba? if not will there be one?
Morrison has never developed to an acceptable level in any save I’ve seen and Pogba is getting a profile organised as we speak.
check out Pavel Nyakhaychyk
I can’t find that player to check in my saves.
just wanted to know if its possible that joel wont turn out at all like pedro’s did? im about to start a save with porto and im thinking about buying him…should i put him in the reserves/ U18s squad? or should i play him in cup matches straight away? coz joel valencia on pedro’s save turned out to be EPIC. but im concerned that he might not be anywhere close to that on my save..
It is possible that Joel won’t reach the same standard as he has flexible potential but he should still be good even if not as good as above. You can read Pedro’s comments above about how he trained Valencia etc.
what attribute to be trained?
Pedro who provided the future screenshot explains all training in the comments above.
Could you do a future profile of Miyaichi(Arsenal) and Kelvin(Porto)?
Afraid both players were ruled out because I’ve never seen them develop into anything good.
he is a hard one to develop but im working on it got most his stats to 15 with 2 years to go he is 19 now great guy he and vadillo are my subs for hazard and elia they do well but still get bullied for now cant wait to get him to 17 acceleration and pace to work on his technical skills
Hopefully you’ll have the same success as Pedro did with him.
could u check Lazar Markovic from Partizan he is realy good im my save
I can’t profile him as Lazar is not visible in any of my future saves…he looks talented but can’t be profiled without a future profile unfortunately.
you have to profile vadilo he is great i have him at 21 and he is really becoming their he has much better overall stats than Valencia though i still need to do some work he is 20 now
I won’t profile him until I have a future profile including his full development as he has gone nowhere near in all my saves, if someone thinks they have a good enough screenshot I’m happy to look at it.
If the guy didn’t cheat as you say why is it then that the player starts with a determination of 3 (first screen) and ends up with a determination of 18….Mmmm Strange…. Using the editor to manipulate the mental stats eej…Everybody knows that ambition, determination and professialism defines if the player will reach its maximum potential….Nice try though
You obviously didn’t understand the part about doing your research. Players PA and CA can be flexible, just read the comments above as its all explained by the guy himself. The only other thing could be that the first screenshot is from the latest patch as I updated the site but the future screenshot is from a game in an earlier patch. I won’t waste my time explaining simple parts of the game so just read the comments further up, but the proof is all there. If you continue to argue this then you obviously don’t understand how the game works.
Is he good enough to fit into the Barcelona team, as a backup and potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez?
The problem there is that Valencia can have different attributes in different saves so I couldn’t say for sure…but he is worth buying at such a price and try rotating him to see what happens.
I didn’t buy this guy in the first, second, or third transfer windows, and in my game it is November of 2012. He plays for Zaragoza, who were regulated, and he has gotten SO MUCH BETTER! His dribbling is 15, first touch and technique 16, and his mentals/phsicals have improved too. I just arranged to sign him for 1.8M in January. The only problem is that he’s become a natural AMC, and my formation doesnt use one. I’m sure I can retrain him back to being a winger though.
Just another example showing this profile is not fake then, always nice to see. I’d say you can most certainly redevelop him back to a winger.
